Glen Cove Inn & Suites Rockport

We stayed here in July 2023, and were pleasantly surprised by the rooms, the staff, and excellent continental breakfast. So we expected the same when we booked our stay for July 2024, even though the cost had increased considerably, and the rental terms had also changed. The room this time was not quite as clean and the stopper on the tub was stuck. The breakfast was a big disappointment - the best options from last year were no longer there. The real problem is that I accidentally left something in my room, and they acknowledged that they have it. I have offered to pay for shipping, but they haven't sent it back and refuse to return my phone calls.

Checks all the boxes, CLEAN,FRIENDLY.NICE amenities, close to many things North and South. Spacious room with nice rear deck, star gazing was great. King Deluxe, nice pool, ample breakfast. Walking trail right off the property. Great AC and Heat too.

Older property. Under new ownership. Great new staff. Accommodations cozy, clean and quiet. Short drive to many nearby restaurants and attractions. Plan to visit again next year. Didn't take advantage of the small pool, but those with kids made good use of it. Continental breakfast was adequate. Better than expected coffee!

A comfortable and clean motel, with friendly service, accommodating flexible travel needs for those visiting the area. The front desk staff was exceptionally kind and friendly. Continental breakfast is served and a coffee maker is in the room. All basic needs are well met. Despite proximity to central areas the rooms are quiet. A solid place to stay about ten minutes by car from Rockport. Suite options are available and dogs are welcome. Ample parking space.

For 15yrs we've been coming to the Owls Head Auction and staying at Glen Cove Inn. First of all last fall we were contacted to leave a deposit for our stay this August...(never did before, and wasn't going to start). The previous owners knew we would be there the following year. Approaching the entrance the garden is overgrown with dead flowers as well as the rest of the property. Our room was less than clean. The portico was full of spider webs and not wiped down. The rug inside could have been replaced and was not vacuumed thoroughly and I cloroxed the bathroom floor and shower because it was sticky and not clean. The base boards had built up dirt as well as the track on the slider door and window sills. We noticed the outside of other units have been neglected with rotting boards and mold starting. The breakfast area has been downgraded with the food selection. Wheres the waffle machine?? The plastic valances were cloudy and dirty and couldn't see out of them. The railings have been neglected as well with black mold starting. The weeds are taking over the premises! The pool area is overgrown with shrubs and the bottom field had no adirondacks to sit, not to mention the fireplace. Many upgrades and care had gone into the maintenance and upkeep of this special property over the years. The gardens were full and colorful as well as the hanging baskets and flower boxes. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable. The breakfast area had fresh products, coffee and waffle machine. In closing, I hate to say we we won't be back. Unfortunately, we hate to see this gem of a property decline. Maybe it's because of no help, maybe not. It's very sad and heartbreaking to break tradition, because we liked staying at Glen Cove.

Small, but very friendly staff! Perfect location, with clean, comfortable room. Lovely breakfast (typical fare, but beautiful outdoor setting and better than other small inns I've ever seen) Very convenient to town. We will go there again!!

The front desk person was very kind and welcoming and trying her best to be a good host. The room was lovely and ample with a small kitchenette which was very helpful. The pool, while small, was really fun for the children. This is our second time staying and, I will say, it is different with the new owners. Details that affected our comfort included keys not working, waiting a day for toilet paper and towels despite letting front desk know of our needs in the morning, not picking up trash left for pick-up on front porch, no proper size trash bags for kitchen trash. The food for breakfast has gone down and now includes bad pastry in cellophane packages. Lastly, the girls were checking under the bed to make sure they had not left anything and found someone's slipper suggesting that the room had not been vacuumed since the last guest. Each of these things are not a big deal but altogether indicate that the owner is not attending to their guests in the way that the previous owner had. I hope it improves as we really liked this place last year.

Mixed review .... what needed to be clean was - very clean bathroom, sheets, towel and room. Torn sliding door screen and the chairs on the balcony were not clean enough to sit on. Breakfast was ok but not what was advertised on the website - waffles were in a pre-packaged bag and could be heated in the toaster. No fresh fruit, scones or hard-boiled eggs. Coffee was good, but only dark roast or decaf. Small containers of Yoplait yogurt and only grape jam. I needed a place last minute near the hospital for the night, but was charged a $6 convenience fee for booking over the phone despite the website not allowing me to book a 1 night stay. Additional fees included a $10 cleaning fee and $5 resort fee.

Every year when we go to Maine we stay at Glen Cove. This year we had a medical emergency and the staff at Glen Cove was fantastic. They responded immediately. They contacted 911 and had emergency help there and had access to the room ready when help got there. We will continue to stay there every year. Thank you staff.
