The hotel itself is ok. Good ac, not noisy and sleep quality was excellent. Front desk was very professional and helpful. Housekeeping was sloppy on most of the days we were there until we talked to the staff about it, then they rectified the situation. Be aware that this is at the edge of the tenderloin district and it feels more like tenderloin than union square.

We didn’t even get to check in. As we pulled up to the hotel, we were verbally assaulted by a homeless man and didn’t feel safe to get out of the car. I tried to talk to the manager and cancel our reservation as we felt it was unsafe and the manager was unwilling to speak with us.

The hotel quoted us $65 per night for parking and when we got there it was $75 plus a $12 per night tax. Due to work we had two cars and this worked out to a huge difference. Shower was like warm. Shower door was busted and hard to open. Water machine on our floor was broken the entire week. Manager was conveniently not available to speak to. I would not recommend this hotel.

Sort of a sad excuse for a 4-star hotel, it really feels like a 3-star-minus level of hotel with all the issues. The good: The gym was okay. We didn't pay full price as we booked through a third-party site but still it feels like daylight robbery. The bad: We stayed at roadside motels with this level of cleanliness and service for significantly less. Other hotels and apartments in SF close to this one seems much better. The receptionists were not very helpful. The rooms are small and dirty. It might be an older building but the room door not closing properly and having a sliver of light coming in all night is extremely bad. They only provided 1 water bottle when the booking was for 2. The windows overlooked a trash-filled alley. The location is in the Tenderloin and you get the real SF experience by walking barely 100 feet from the main entrance and seeing people shooting up, or smoking crack. We generally felt quite unsafe even during the daylight (and I've been to some rougher parts of the world before).
