San Remo has a wonderful location and reasonable rates for a fairly comfortable room with a shared bath. The hotel has changed ownership in recent years, and I’m sorry to say the old world charm is gone. Now it’s just old. Everything is dingy and poorly maintained: gaping hole in front door, dirty stairway littered with constuction dust, filthy hallway carpets, a broken towel rack by the shared bathroom sink, and tattered shades in the bedrooms. What once was an airy, clean and well maintained European style hotel is now sloppy, under construction, and incredibly dirty. After over 20 years of visits, I will never stay here again.
