Hotels near Hong Temple, Shanghai

This hotel is my least favorite after travelling around china for 10 months. Although the location is pretty nice, but other points I would give it a minus. As we had two stays at this hotel (we went to another city for one night), I'm going to review it in two posts with the same content. Room interior: 3/10 - I'm so glad that I stayed at this hotel with my closest friend, and not family. It would be so awkward if I were to take a bath and my parents can see me through the glass. Yes it's not that clear, but you will definitely see each other's body. We had to turn back when we took a shower, and it's super uncomfortable. You also have to hang your clothes and towel outside the shower room door as well - The control button panel is very confusing. I don't mind most of it but the 'open the door' button. I find it's very dangerous when I just want to turn off all lights but open the door instead - Soundproofing was not that good. As we stayed at lobby floor, we always heard - The room interior on my second stay was very poor. It's smaller than the first and the window was super small like there's none. Amenities 3/10 - There is nothing such 'smart toilet'. It's very normal, so I'm pretty disappointed cuz it's one criteria I chose this hotel (my friend came from japan, and I especially chose this for her) - No bathrobe as listed (again, for my friend, she usually uses bathrobe as pajamas in japan and didn't take pajamas with her on this trip. We had a busy time finding new pajamas) - No soft drinks as listed - No guest laundry as listed Cleanliness: standard 10/10 (just look vintage, but no dusts) Luggage storage SAFETY: 3/10 I don't mind when we had to take our luggage to the storeroom by ourselves, but no one cared when we took them back. They didn't pay attention on which bags I took at all. We can just give them our luggage storage tag and go to take ours directly, without checking Front desk: 7/10 - the first stay was normal. They can speak some english. Their services was normal - On my second stay, the front desk guy who I didn't see during first stay was super super friendly and full of service mind. He was very nice and smiley while helping me register and helped me talking to the food delivery rider. The other was not bad. Location 9/10 - right on East Nanjing road - ~5 min walk to both east nanjing road and ppl square metros - It's a bit tiring to go back from the bund, but not that bad for people's in 20s

The hotel is very well located in the hearth of the Shangai city center. The room was cleaned, with all the necessary amenities. The personnel was kind and available to questions (at the reception everybody spoke English). They gave us a room on the 25th floor with an astonishing view of the Bund. Sincerely, nothing to complain. 5/5 stars.

Check-in wasn’t a good experience, but the hotel was okay after that. When I first checked-in, the room key cards I was given didn’t work, which was frustrating as the room was one of the furthest from reception. This meant I had to go all the way back for new keys after a long day. I just wanted to relax! Then the second room I was given didn’t match the photos on Trip.com, in particular it didn’t have a real window, looking over the dining area rather than outside. But when finally settled into the third room, the stay was okay. It was supposedly an upgrade, but it only looked like the room I had booked. The location is the big plus: right on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street which leads to the Bund, both iconic locations that are great to visit. I didn’t have the breakfast as there were no spare seats, so I went to a nearby McDonald’s instead. The hotel needs to enlarge its dining area.

Superb location. This hotel is located in the heart of Nanjing Road. It is very easy to book the airport transfer. You just copy the Chinese name of the hotel onto the app. It takes around 45 minutes to reach the hotel, and you can walk along Nanjing Road. If you are into art toys (Pop Mart), it is just a 2-3 minute walk from Nanjing Road. The staff were friendly and really helpful. Even though some of them cannot speak English, they try to help. I could not remember their names, but all of them at the front desk were the best, even the chef at the breakfast restaurant. I would recommend choosing this hotel if you want a place near Nanjing Road. The hotel also provides free drinking water.

We recently stayed at this hotel with our family of six, which included elderly members and young children. While the hotel adhered strictly to its 2pm check-in time, the staff kindly assisted us with luggage storage, allowing us to explore the area until our rooms were ready. Our rooms were immaculately clean and perfectly suited our needs. The hotel's prime location, just one street away from Nanjing Road and a short 15-minute walk to the iconic Bund, made it easy to take in the stunning night views. The breakfast buffet offered a good variety, although it wasn't particularly impressive. Overall, a comfortable and convenient stay for our family.

The location is perfect. Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street is just downstairs. You can see two pieces of the three-piece set while sitting by the window. It only takes about twenty minutes to walk to the Bund with the kids. The breakfast buffet is very rich, the staff are very enthusiastic and have a good attitude. The room was very spacious and I didn't hear any noise after staying there for three days.

From the moment I stepped into the lift, it is smelly and dirty. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a long day of exploring the city. The location of the hotel was also ideal, situated in the heart of the city with easy access to attractions and transportation. Whether I was strolling through nearby parks or hopping on the subway, everything was conveniently located.

The hotel is conveniently located and there are many restaurants nearby. The hotel staff are friendly, nice and helpful. Just 2 things that caused certain inconveniences. 1. The staff took away the bath mat and forgot to replace a new one. 2. The door could not be closed tightly in the shower room and water did leak out of the door. Overall stay is satisfactory and I will stay again.

The room is very clean, with good sound insulation. There are also a lot of TV programs that children like to watch. The front desk service is also very good. The location of the hotel is very easy to find, very close to Nanjing Road and the Bund, and the transportation is very convenient

The stay has been nothing short of fantastic. Just look at the million dollar view of Shanghai's night scape! The room came with a platter of complimentary tropical fruits, snacks, drinks and a bottle of wine. In addition, you can book in advance a photography session with free makeover, 4 complimentary photos and any additional ones you choose at an extra cost. The photographer is good at prompting how to pose and takes very good photos! The hotel's reception is also very friendly. I would like to commend this young male bespectacled guest service staff who went beyond his way to help me with my personal courier services issues that is unrelated to the hotel. It's little things like these that makes the stay more memorable.
