The hotel was beautiful and clean. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. The bath, the bed, everything was wonderful!! The location was great, which made moving around easy, a Starbucks a few feet away, and other western 'restaurants' within close proximity. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family

Let's start with the complaint. Checking into the hotel and checking out of the hotel took too long. I waited around 15 to 20 minutes both times. Unacceptable! Not enough staff at the front desk and they need training on how to hurry people along effectively. The room was comfortable but looks like it will be up for renovation in the next year or two. No bidet in the bathroom. Great upstairs restaurant with fabulous views. Breakfast is outstanding. Concierge staff are good. Finally I was satisfied with the price and the excellent location.

Exceptional Service and Perfect Location My stay at Shanghai Marriott Marquis City Centre was fantastic! The service was top-notch—despite receiving multiple Taobao parcels daily, the staff were incredibly patient, always helping to locate them and even delivering them directly to my room. As the Executive Lounge was under renovation, they thoughtfully provided complimentary bento boxes sent to our room, which was a lovely touch. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, featuring two double beds that easily accommodated four people. The location couldn't be more convenient. With McDonald’s and Luckin Coffee right next door and the bustling Nanjing Road just a 5-minute walk away, everything I needed was within easy reach. Highly recommend this hotel for its impeccable service, thoughtful gestures, and unbeatable location.

This is a lovely old hotel in one of the best areas of Shanghai. Breakfast was delicious and staff friendly. It is an older hotel with more traditional hotel facilities than a lot of the new hotels in Shanghai, but everything was in good shape and clean. One tip--we didn't realize there was a hot tub in the locker room, as whenever we started to go in that direction the lady in charge of the locker room would stand up and ask where we were going. She made it seem like we weren't allowed to go to the shower/rest area until we were done swimming. So we swam, then came back to shower and found a nice hot tub (and cold tub) in the shower room.

Amazing hotel. Top service and good price/quality. I was upgraded to an Executive King Room. Ideal for business travellers given its convenient location close to the train station, metro and highway. It has a pool but this is not so much for relaxing.

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times. In fact I almost every month and for several days or weeks. I have chosen to stay at this hotel due to its well positioned location. This is however the first time that I’m writing a review about this hotel. The reason is because the majority of my stays haven’t been as positive as this one due to shortcomings in the service. I will not go into details about that at this time and I want to mention my positive experience during this stay. When I arrived the doorman greeted politely and helped me with my luggage which was much appreciated. When I arrived for check in, I just waisted for a couple of minutes which is rather short and unusual for this hotel. The receptionist, named Red greeted me with a friendly smile and apologized for the waiting time. By doing that, he already gave me a positive impression. He helped me check in very quickly and as he realized that I stayed for many times and that I like to book the premium room as I prefer a bit larger room than the standard rooms, he gave me a room upgrade. As he also saw that I stay so frequently and never had any outstanding payments for mini bar etc. he did not ask me to pay any deposit. His recognition and courtesy made me feel happy and feel how the service of a five star hotel should in fact be. He also handed me two cocktail vouchers for the top floor bar and explained with enthusiasm that I can go to enjoy a drink there. Finally he wished me to have a good stay and I went to my room. The room he arranged was more beautiful than the one I originally booked. Nearly same size but looked much more pleasant which I like very much. He made this arrival much appreciated and I certainly hope that there will be more people like Red working at this hotel. Then I can easily say that I choose this hotel not only for the location but also for the service.

For a hotel in this price range, I expected better soundproofing solutions. While the service and room quality are typically excellent, I believe these issues should be addressed to provide a better experience

The staff are very welcoming and helpful at all times, good customer servive. Room is beautiful, clean and and comfortable. Location is great, very convenient to everything. If I come to Shanghai next time, I will come back and book the room with view.

Lu. Zz Looking out of the window of the room, the scenery is quite intoxicating. Large areas of green plants and the green ocean sway gently in the breeze, as if they were playing a silent welcome song, and we came to Shanghai. The buildings in the distance are rolling. Under the sunlight, the outline is clear and It is full of layers, as if it is a picture drawn by architects and workers with the most hard work. In the middle of the building, you can occasionally see a few wisps of evening fire burning clouds, which is just like giving this picture scroll. It adds a little mystery. The courtyard of the hotel is even more unique. The flowers in the hall and the shrubs outside are scattered and colorful. In the middle, there is also a landscape tank like a clear pond. In the tank, the sesame fish in the water swim happily, sometimes jumping out of the water, splashing a string of crystal-clear splashes. The green plants by the fish tank, the slender willow branches hang on the water.

Really nice hotel. Great location and near a lot of attractions. I found value in staying here due to the convenience of near by attractions but I chose to eat outside of the hotel because the prices are high. The bar drinks were not good and made with very little alcohol and far too much ice. High price as well. There happened to be some famous actor staying at the hotel and security blocked access to a couple floors so I couldn't access the elevator to get to my room after check in so that was really annoying. Eventually I was able to get to the room and it was nice. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. A bit small but nice none the less.
