2-Star Hotels in Shangri-La

Overall room was basic. There was a restaurant in the hotel that offer hot meals. It was low reason, thus the hostel was quite empty during our stay. Or perhaps the location was so close to the bus station, most hikers will hop into bus and back to Lijiang or Shangri-La straight away. The hotel is located uphill. The only trouble we faced was our baggages was stored at the public storage room downhill, and we had to carried our own baggages walk about 200m uphill, and 3 storey staircase to our room.

This long standing guesthouse is a must stay in many ways if you are visiting Tiger Leaping Gorge - with outstanding views and definitely a perfect location for staying the second night if you are walking the gorge over 3 days. The bedrooms are large and clean and warm. The hotel staff are very helpful both in person and over WeChat - especially when you are doing the gorge walk and want some help with directions. There are great drinks in the bar including local craft beer. A few things that we would note though. Firstly given the price of the room, there absolutely should be real bath towels instead of very unsatisfactory disposable ones. Secondly I do not recommend booking the most expensive top floor rooms because the noise that comes through the roof from the upstairs area (bar/coffee shop/terrace) is very bad and constant (including waking us up in the morning). You would get just as good a view from the lower level rooms but without the terrible noise. Lastly it would be nice if the restaurant included a few western food options for lunch and dinner - the Chinese food we had was great but tired international tourists (and there are more and more of us!) often want comfort food after a long day’s hike.

We were given the topmost corner room with a terrace which provides an unblocked view of the mountains with exceptionally fresh air. The room isn't huge and devoid of any noteworthy decorations, it's just a basic room. There are plenty of graffiti on the walls of the premise and while they do give character to the hotel, yet, some look a little unsightly, especially the carelessly scribbled ones.

The boss is from the Northeast. If you want to rent a car wherever you want to live here, you can ask him. The price is also very reasonable. A home for travel friends.

We are from Thailand, we stayed here for 2 nights here. The owner,he picked up us at the gate of old town,he’s kind and helpful to us . I love the warmed-floor in the room. Although we communicated by google translate but he always gave us the answers what I asked😊 if I hv a chance to visit Shangri-la again, I’ll stay here again

We stayed here as our mid-point stop while hiking the Tiger Leaping Gorge. The location was easy to find, just about a minute further from the Tea Horse Guesthouse. The hotel is undergoing some renovation so it was a bit tricky for us to find the check-in. We think we accidentally went through the back entrance. Once we managed to check in, the host took us to our room right away. The room was simple but clean and comfortable. The hot water worked reliably but note that the bathroom has a wet toilet. The view of the Yulong Mountain from the room is spectacular. There is a restaurant at the hotel but we did not get a chance to try it. Due to the renovations, the rooftop space mentioned in other reviews is also not accessible. We did have tea (free) and coffee (paid) there the next morning before setting out to continue our hike. Overall, the hostess was very sweet and we would recommend staying here! Note: If you speak English, note that the signs are a bit confusing as it is sometimes referred to as Summit Inn but sometimes they use the direct translation from Chinese of Mountain Beauty Inn.

The space is quite large and the parking lot is also large enough. The facilities are a bit old, but the location of the hotel is not bad, and the ancient city can be reached in 10 minutes on foot. If you are just passing by, the price-performance ratio is still quite high, and the breakfast is average.

This place is a hidden gem and it does have a few twists and turns to get there. It is great place and the family are so friendly and helpful!! The main host lady can speak some English, but she understood what we were talking and asking. Everyone was sooo friendly. The check in was very smooth and the room was so spacious! The view of the mountain in our room was breathtaking. The bathroom is very modern, the shower had great water pressure and there was no waiting for hot water. The bed was comfy, towels were nice and soft and the AC worked very well. They had tea leaves in the room if you wanted to make yourself a nice cup of tea. The view from the roof top was fantastic. The family had all the supplies you may need for hiking such as snacks, drinks, rain pants ponchos, water, tissues, hats etc. They have a good range of Chinese food and what we ate for lunch and breakfast were very tasty. On the menu they had apple pie and banana pie. The pastry tasted like doughnut. Although it would go nicely with ice cream, we enjoyed it. Sorry we were too hungry, that we forgot to take pictures of our delicious food. The family organized a driver to take our luggage to the next homestay, while we hiked on. When we arrived to other locations, our bags were there. This is a place, that is you should consider staying at when hiking along the Tiger Leaping Gorge. Also, the best part of staying at this place is that you meet so many friendly hikers. Totally recommend it!🙌🏼👍👍👍👍

The courtyard environment is very good, there is a study on the first floor, snacks and drinks on the terrace on the second floor, and there are Sheniu cats. The boss is very nice, and you can see that he is very dedicated to running the business and treating every guest with care. The inn is located in the center of the ancient city, with food, drink and entertainment around. The boss will help pick up and drop off luggage at the gate of the ancient city.

The room booked for 84 yuan has a spacious and bright environment, clean and hygienic, and the front desk service is very friendly. There is also free laundry and free parking. It is more cost-effective than a room with more than 150-200 yuan. The price-performance ratio is very high ~ Highly recommended to everyone
