Dirty! Pool is so dirty and on the beach you can’t swim, it’s rocky so we had to go every day to another resort to spend our days. Food poor also. Toilets are leaking and no mosquito nets. Slow service, we had lunch only once in our 6 days there and we were waiting for food 2 h!!! The rest of pur holidays we spent in another hotel, and returning in Shaza only to sleep Avoid this place!

Photos of hotel rooms not current. Decadent rooms to say the least. Rusty and broken French windows close with difficulty. Old and rusty toilets and showers. Dangerous hot tub with drain pump that suction cups every part of the body. Very noisy air conditioning with an external motor present in the wall adjacent to the room. Difficult to rest with such noise. Pool in a poor state of maintenance with broken and sharp tiles, my daughter cut the back of her foot. Incompetence at the reception for filling out the invoice at the end of the stay. Beach not accessible at high tide. Rudeness of the pool staff. Broken and worn pool towels. Only local cuisine available, also for breakfast. There is no international menu. 4 star hotel on paper, in reality it is worth less than one star. I definitely won't go back.

We had an event there. The food and staff were nice. Came payment time I mistakenly made an overpayment. The hotel is very reluctant on reversal of money and keeps making empty promises claiming it was my mistake and shouldn't blame anyone. At some point even suggested I call the bank myself to do the reversal which I did anyway cause I needed my money back. But the whole ordeal was pathetic staff need training on proffesionslism.

Avoid the Royal Shaza Suites: a 3-star hotel masquerading as a 4-star. The restaurant is filthy. Food and grease-stained tablecloths are changed once a week. Among other foods, the buffet features chicken and sausages for dinner that are clearly recycled the next day for breakfast. I suffered food poisoning with diarrhea, and a troubled stomach another day. Sliced fruit at the buffet is left uncovered and is frequented by flies. Only the omelettes are reliable. Our room was spacious and well air conditioned with plentiful hot water, but the toilets frequently did not flush. Music blasted from poolside at deafening intensity, even when no guests were present. It penetrated our room with the windows closed. It seemed poolside staff were intent on entertaining themselves. Front desk staff are professional, but God forbid you need to confront “Rachel”, the unsmiling, unhappy so-called manager - clearly with no training in hotel management. She will likely not last long. Apparently this property recently changed ownership which may explain the positive past reviews. Either that, or staff have been instructed to post reviews of their own in a vain attempt to boost its rating. This hotel is not inexpensive and there were few guests present during our week-long stay, a clear indicator of a hotel on its way out. I certainly hope so.

This is one of my favorite hotels on the Coast. You may have loved south Beach but this is the best North Beach experience you will get. The swimming pool is amazing. The environment is cool and the beach is a view away. The antique vibes are cool too. Book a stay at the Shaza and have fun!!

We got to our suite, there was no water in the toilets or taps and no hot water in the shower. There was no kettle, cups, coffee, tea, sugar even though there was a kitchen. The jacuzzi didn’t work. The suite had no curtains. Until the maintenance came to fix everything two hours passed. The pool was not functioning for the first day…”cleaning it”. The gate to the beach was locked. We demanded a change of rooms from the manager. The new room also had no hot water. We were not told to run the water for ten minutes until it runs hot😳😡🙄. The jacuzzi didn’t work. The entire hotel area us a building site painters painting walls, builders drilling and repairing all day. The second day we got to our rooms very tired after a day out and the key didn’t work!!! We had to go back to the lobby and the concierge said she thought we had left the hotel🤦♀️. ***!!!! Such a pity, it has huge potential and the staff is really eager to please. Im sorry but I can’t recommend this hotel in its present state.
