I would describe our week’s stay at the Vasia as ok. Pros: - fab location with easy access to local bars, tavernas and harbour - large hotel with beautifully maintained gardens - large selection of food, pretty standard for AI - clean with regular towel changes - Sissi is a beautiful resort Cons: - poor selection of drinks on all inclusive. Cocktails are basic, limited selection and come in a half pint glasses. -main pool area crowded even in September, with beds crammed close together - broken sunbeds - very few parasols - drinks served in pool area usually in plastic glasses which regularly ran out and therefore, were given disposable flimsy plastic cups - outside seating area next to bar only partially lit, meaning if you ate or drank at one end. you needed your phone light to see what you where doing - no music or atmosphere - the shower was like something out of the dark ages and shot everywhere if you weren’t careful - if you pay for the private swim up pools, be aware that there are ten of them; shallow and not swimable, crammed into a small area, side by side with no privacy and the area is regularly in the shade (see photo). Think Jet2 should rethink their star rating. We would definitely return to Sissi - we loved exploring this beautiful village and eating and drinking in the lovely little tavernas. You may struggle to get about in Sissi if you have any walking disabilities.

This hotel has the worst and rudest reception staff, I’ve ever seen and experienced in my life. They are not honest and they never tell you any information about the hotels’ facilities unless you ask for it specifically. The pools are never cleaned, they only pour more chlorine in there, everyday. The water park (which only consists of 3 slides) are not manned most of the time, very dangerous. No staff around at night or early morning, it’s very quiet and very dangerous.

The hotel is lovely had a great family holiday, huge shout out to the staff especially vasilis the bar man on the pool bar. He has greated us every morning and made a effort to be friendly with the children, he made us feel very welcomed. And manger of kids club vergina is a wonderful part of the hotel too definitely recommend staying here with a family! Definitely would come back.

An amazing stay at Vasia Spa resort in Crete Sissi. All the staff are super friendly in particular Vasillis in the bar team who was very attentive at all times. Would definitely recommend. 5 star for sure. The pools and food are all varied and the spa was an amazing experience. Eleni in the spa was also excellent with the massage. A wonderful experience.

Prachtig, goed verzorgd resort.

I booked a last minute holiday for myself and teenage granddaughter to have a week in the sunshine , I can honestly say from start to finish this hotel and staff were amazing .. The food was lovely , our room was spotless with very comfortable beds , modern furniture and the maids cleaned room and changed our beds and towels every day . The pools are all maintained every morning and very clean . Family pool has lots of slides and fun activities going in for the little ones . I would like to say Vasalie the pool bar man such a lovely guy and served us every day with a friendly smile . Anastasia in the reception bar so lovely and welcoming , she is a credit to this hotel family . Nicos the restaurant manager , the Italian restaurant chef all the waiting staff were fabulous, they all made our holiday so special . Thank you everyone at the Vasia hotel and Spa we will be back . If I had to make 1 complaint it is to say I wasn’t to pleased the all inclusive drinks are stopped being served at 11pm and you get charged after that :-( Don’t listen to any of the whinge moan bags who slate this hotel …. I’m so please I ignored them as we had a super time there

We LOVED Vasia. The pools were great, the food was fantastic (so many choices daily) and everyone was so friendly. The kids club had so much to offer (our 6&10y girls both enjoyed the activities). Room was spacious and comfortable, large bedroom, large lounge, two showers. The tv had internet connection so we could sign in to Netflix / Prime etc. We weren’t so keen that the room door, when locked, could still open from the inside (meaning that children could open the door from the inside by mistake trying to find the bathroom!) we had to push a heavy chair and stool up against the door to prevent this happening again. Both our daughters did get ear infections during our holiday, but the in-house doctor dealt with it quickly and the medication helped. Seems it’s fairly common in hot countries, no proof it was caused by the pool water and no other kids with it that we knew of. We ate at the Greek restaurant that’s a special treat as part of the all Inc. it was nice, but pretty similar to the buffet. We heard from others, that the Italian option was better - but this was only Mon-Wed and we didn’t book in time. All Inc drinks were good. Only thing we found was there was no squash - we bought a small bottle from the local supermarket because our girls don’t drink fizzy drinks. There was grenadine or lime syrup. The beer and white wine were fine. Plenty of cocktails on offer and the staff were happy to make these mocktails too. Local harbour in Sissi is beautiful (short walk away) and the restaurants close by were good - especially Amelia that does a Greek night on Monday. Mini disco was at 8:30 and the kids enjoyed it, evening entertainment was fine - slightly bizarre at times but still entertaining! We were able to get sun loungers daily, although there were people going out early to reserve them despite there being a no reserving sign. Bit annoying when people then didn’t use them for the entire morning, or day in some cases! The free towels for the loungers weren’t the best in many cases - some were fresh and still soft, others were slightly stained or frayed but the hotel were quick to change them on request. Room was cleaned thoroughly daily, beds made, fresh towels, floor mopped etc - and the housekeeping lady was delightful.

Just back home from 7 nights at Vasia. First day we went to the main pool and were a little taken aback at the crowded and mostly broken sunbeds. Really felt like everyone was on top of each other. After a quick chat with reception we upgraded to a private pool room 1631 and from then on it was bliss. Room was good size for 2 adults and 2 children and having your own pool with a view of the ocean was fantastic. Cleaning staff were brilliant and kept everything clean and tidy. We really rated the buffet restaurant and there was something tasty to suit us all everyday. Thought it was a really nice touch to be greeted by the head chef at dinner service. The bar staff were fab but we have to call out the attentive and friendly service of Manolis, he was fantastic. We had a meal at the Greek a la carte but were not impressed, buffet restaurant was much better. Although the sunset views from there were stunning. Lots of lovely restaurants in the area especially the one right on the harbour- Paradise cove. All in a fabulous week and would return as long as we booked a private pool room!
