I stayed in one of the room on the ground floor, which was a good size and tastefully decorated. The rooms also have a decent sized balcony and bathroom. There are limited amenities at the hotel which was a little disappointing given the price tag. The hotel staff are friendly and incredibly helpful but a little ‘green’. The hotel is within walking distance of the old town and the harbour (so easy access for day trips to various islands such as Hvar, Brac, and Trogir - all excellent) but it is located near the beach and there is a nightclub that plays music from around 9.30pm until 4.30am. I woke up about three times each night. It was just terrible. In addition, there is significant building work taking place next door to the hotel which is also rather noisy and the beach nearby leaves a lot to be desired. Diocletian’s palace, the town hall, cambi palace etc are must sees. There was also an open air opera performance on the Wednesday evening in the old town which was just wonderful. That said, large parts of Split are less attractive, the city seems a little jaded by tourists and some people can come across as impolite and unprofessional. It was in Split for about 6 days. If I had my t8me again, I would base myself in Trogir.
