Very happy with this hotel. It is located about 6-8 minutes' walk from Central station where the Airtrain stops and many other regional trains stop as well. Also striking distance from the CBD with many dining options during the day, though the area becomes quite quiet come 7pm or so. Room is clean, of a decent size. Breakfast, which I believe is included in most rates, is also fairly good, with at least 3 hot dishes on rotation and the usual continental breakfast options (the croissants they procure are really good!) Recommended if you get a decent rare (A$160-180 is a good rate).

We stayed here the night before leaving on a cruise that was leaving from the International Cruise Terminal. The main reason we chose this hotel was its close proximity to Roma Street Station as we caught the train from the airport. While it is close to the train station it is located at the top of a reasonable hill and it took a bit of effort to navigate the way to the top, apart from the effort. Several escalators/lifts and then a steep path with no real directions on which way to go. I thought I would be able to see the hotel to give me an idea which way but had to resort to Google Maps to find the way. Unfortunately we were on an early flight into Brisbane so as it was 09:30AM I was not expecting our room to be ready but just needed to store our bags so we good do some exploring. As expected, our room was not ready but the guy behind the counter checked me in, stored our bags and advised that the hotel was busy and our room would not be ready until about 02:00PM. No worries we will be back. We arrived back at 01:00PM and our room was still not ready and waited in the foyer till 02:00PM as previously discussed. Reception gave me our keys and we proceeded to our room on Level 1, or so I thought……..room card would not let me use the lift. Back to reception to have the card re-coded. On entry to our room, it was reasonably spacious and looked clean and reasonably comfortable. Décor a bit dated, but functional. We had a rather large balcony but we could not use it as there was no furniture so the balcony was wasted. Bathroom was small but functional, bit dated but appeared clean. It was only after we used the toilet several times that we noticed water on the floor. We ignored it for quite a while as we thought we had spilt water on the floor but it was not till the next morning that I realised it was coming from under the toilet. I reported it to reception on checkout. As we were tired from our early start we chose to order room service. While we knew how much it was going to cost it was very expensive. Two hamburgers and chips over $70. A bit steep, but as we were so tired we paid so we did not have to go out. The hamburgers were good by the way, but still way too expensive. Overall, this hotel was OK, but the room was supposed to be a superior room. OK. I would hate to be in a Standard Room………..as the room was pretty average for a Superior. After reading some of the other reviews the price we paid was fair and the location is good, just not when you have to push two big suitcases that we were taking on a cruise up the hill from the station. PS. It cost us $73 in the taxi to get to the Cruise Terminal.

A nice modern room with all the amenities to go with it. Comfortable, clean, amazing shower and views, amazing staff and ample parking though not free. Near to public transportation, coffee shop on the ground floor and abundant retail shops nearby.

I stay here when in Brisbane - it's conveniently close to Roma Street Station, I can check in no matter how late I arrive, and I always get a good nights sleep. The breakfast in the morning fills me for the day, and the staff have always been friendly and super helpful.

There were multiple issues throughout our stay and my partner and I left early to go to another hotel. I am aware that Punthill are currently undergoing renovations, and I appreciate the challenges associated with this. However, I do feel that our experience was unacceptable. Our allocated apartment smelt strongly of fresh paint, had paint splatters on the carpet, no cupboard, and a loud sound when the toilet was flushed. We requested to move to another apartment, which was granted. We spent one night in that subsequent apartment, and were woken at 6am to tradespeople sanding the wall in the room next to us. Punthill staff then asked us to move apartments, because the apartment that they had shifted us into was to be painted over the weekend. In our third apartment, the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes from the previous guests. We were kept up until almost 2am by a loud event in the apartment next to us, and threatened by one of those guests when we asked them to quieten down. We had to call the afterhours Punthill number to request security attendance. We were fed up by this point and switched to another hotel. We won’t stay at Punthill again.

Ridge hotel was greaat! Had an amazing time during thr stay especially with the pool table. Only thing was please be aware of the slope heading up to the hotel. It is a workout going up🤣 especially with two luggages😅 other than that it is a nice room

I stayed here for four nights, check in was easy, the staff were lovely, the view of the city skyline was lovely and the price was good considering how close I was to the city . I needed to be close to the my University campus which was only a quick walk down the hill. The train and small Woolworths were also very close walking distance as were plenty of good coffee places. the bathroom was recently renovated and clean and there were notices up saying they were doing ongoing renovations so hopefully this improves some of the downsides I experienced. The downsides of this place include, the two pillows were very flat, however as it was just me I used both. The carpet inside my room was very stained with what looked like pink/maroon-ish coloured paint or something. the bedside tables were dusty and in need of a wipe down. The restaurant which I only ventured into once was not good. I ordered vegetarian nachos which were terrible and barely any sauce and no sour cream the waitress only told me they had run out of sour cream after waiting ages and then being presented with them at which time I was offered tomato sauce as an alternative they cost about $17. I ate them only because I was exhausted and couldn't be bothered doing anything about it. The glass doors to the balcony were also very dirty and...More
