St. Paul＇s Bay Hotels with Airport pickup service

I traveled to Malta alone and chose the Primera Hotel as one of the cheapest options in Malta. In principle, the travel guide says that Valletta is the best place to stay, but I would not agree with this, as it is an hour from St. Paul's Bay to Valletta, an hour to the ferry to Gozo and half an hour to Rabat/Mdina. Excursions such as to the Blue Grotto only go via Valletta and it takes 2 hours by bus. However, you can combine this with a travel route via Valletta or as the last spot before the airport. The hotel was clean, the rooms were more than adequately equipped and for €8 you could book breakfast on site, which was a bit English but had something for everyone. The only thing that could be difficult is being able to eat more than just fruit and bread as a vegan.

Perfect location, we were on 5th floor and stayed from saturday to tuesday at last march weekend, if there were any street noises, we didn’t hear anything (our windows were located on main street), balcony was a great bonus to spend evening with pizza and wine. All shops and restaurants are in few minutes. Nice reception 24/7, delicious and various food at breakfast menu. All toiletries were included, towels and hairdryer. Additional warm blankets, but room was warm, used them for sitting outside. Huge free parking lot. Out stay I rate 10/10.

Reception staff went above and beyond following my recent holiday when I had to wait over 24 hours for my suitcase to be sent from Manchester. They provided essentials and repeatedly phoned the airport for me to chase my case. The apartment was large and very clean with all the essentials for self catering. The pool was comfortable to use, on my own, not always the case, always available sun beds nice temperature and pleasant surroundings

Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. We have been here for almost two weeks. Location is fairly close to the center and beach. It is an 18 plus hotel, which means that there are a lot of young people under 25. Our room was fine. Only the sink is very small and low. For the rest breakfast was good, but aimed at English people. Furthermore a lot of guests from England. It is a party hotel. We are not party people. So every day to the beach. Staff is very helpfull.

Struttura un po' vecchiotta ma efficiente . La camera era molto ampia (davvero enorme) , con balcone . No minibar e no kit per il bagno ; mi è stata fornita sono una mini soap bar (quindi se prenotate vi consiglio di portare i vostri campioncini) . La colazione è discreta . Facendo un bilancino qualità prezzo non posso assolutamente dire nulla , anzi . Unica pecca che mi ha davvero fatta rimanere parecchio male , nonostante io non sia una persona ”schifettosa” , è stato il water in cui ho ahimè trovato piccoli residui di escrementi (facilmente rimovibili con lo spazzolone) . Questo per me, come per chiunque del resto, indice di pulizia non approfondita ed efficiente !

We recently returned to the Paradise Bay resort a year on from getting married there on the beach outside the Porto Lounge. The hotel is amazing, whatever room you have you are going to have a view either of Paradise bay with its beach and constant coming and goings of yachts and speed boats, people swimming in the clear blue waters or on the other side, looking out over the south Comino straight with all its water traffic and the ferry port with the constant activity of the ferries going over to Gozo. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, well equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, fridge and TV, although English channels are few and far between, and are well cleaned everyday. It may not be to everyone’s choice as it is a little isolated but the excellent bus service from right outside the door can take you wherever you want to be around this beautiful island and buses run every few minutes and for just 2 euros you can go to the next stop or the other end of the island, can’t fault them. The hotel has a choice of four swimming pools, three outdoor and one indoor, including a small jacuzzi, all are well maintained, clean and certainly no shortage of sun loungers. The inside public areas are clean and comfortable and the restaurant the same, however, although the quality of the food served in the restaurant is good, choices can be a little limited and sometimes we found the table turnaround was a bit chaotic, with people wandering around looking for a clean prepared table, that said we never had to wait too long and enjoyed everything we did have to eat. All in all we would thoroughly recommend the Paradise Bay resort to anyone and we will certainly be returning there in the future.
