I really loved the old-world charm of the 88 Gu Yi Gu Zuo B&B. ❤️ The environment was clean and tidy, and the room was comfortable and unique, really giving a feel for Kinmen's traditional Fujian-style architecture. The proprietress was kind and welcoming, always happy to help with anything, making you feel right at home. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Kinmen who wants to experience the beauty of its traditional houses. The 88 Gu Yi Gu Zuo B&B is truly worth a stay! They are a chain with 9 different themed guesthouses in Kinmen, so I'll definitely be back to try another one next time.

The homestay is a short walk from the bus stop (for buses No Red 1 and No 2 from the main Kinmen town of Jincheng) and a 7-11 convenience store. The traditional Fujian building is beautiful and an attraction in itself, with an atmospheric courtyard where guests could chill with coffee and/or a meal. But it has been newly renovated with modern amenities, and the place is very clean and well kept. The host was warm and really very helpful. When he heard that we wanted to walk up Mt Taiwu, he drove us to the start of the walking trail. He also gave us a contact for a taxi driver in case we needed a ride back. And when he learnt that we were tracing our ancestors, he brought us to meet an elder who might have a family register. Really thankful to have met a host like him.

The guesthouse room was fantastic—clean, tidy, and beautiful. The owner was also incredibly kind; I felt a genuine warmth emanating from him. It was my first time traveling alone, and I was a little worried about feeling lonely. But the owner was like an older brother, offering me all sorts of help; I felt a familial bond with him. If any friends ever visit Kinmen, I will definitely recommend this guesthouse!

The service was excellent; the uncle and auntie were very warm and hospitable. The environment was clean and tidy. Although the room wasn't large, it was small but perfectly equipped. The only drawback, or perhaps an advantage, was the convenient transportation. The guesthouse is located next to a main road, and you can often hear motorcycles whizzing by.

The guesthouse owner is very nice. If you're traveling with children, you need to arrange check-in in advance, and they can also help coordinate a late check-out. The room has a large bed, perfect for families with children. The guesthouse is located in the town center, near Jinshang Wanxing convenience store, a Shandong duck head shop, and a Cosmed pharmacy. If you don't have time to buy local specialties, you can easily grab some within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again next time.

What I liked: the location is very convenient if you’re coming to Kinmen from Xiamen. The homestay is walking distance from Shuitou Port (about 15 minutes). The owner is a very friendly and helpful person. He helped me rent an electric motorcycle and responded very fast to all of my text messages. The homestay is clean (the cleaning lady is very kind, too! ^^). There’s a lot of storage space as well as lockers. The shampoo and body wash in the bathroom were also really nice. What could be improved: the bunk beds consists of a wooden plank and bedding, so it was quite hard and a bit uncomfortable. However, I still managed to sleep well and there’s enough privacy. There are no locks in the homestay. Basically anyone from outside can access the public areas and the room with the bunk beds, which can be scary for some solo travelers. However, the homestay has security cameras and Kinmen is very safe in general, so I was never really worried. The door of the room is quite heavy and makes a lot of noise, so this is something to be mindful of when it’s late and you’re sharing the room with other guests. All in all, I had a great experience and would stay here again. I’m really happy to have had the opportunity to stay at a traditional house for such an affordable price.

A beautiful, historic homestay near the port with excellent service. High-quality bedding and comfortable beds. Walking in and hearing Celine Dion made it even more quaint 😂 Jack was super helpful with information about the ferry tickets, and even made an extra trip back to the port because I Ieft my umbrella behind. And his mom was very kind and welcoming too. A note to those who may be sensitive: there was a faint musty smell, which I’ve found common to many hotels and guest houses in humid climates like Taiwan. Earplugs are recommended for light sleepers, since you can hear courtyard and street noise in the room. Plan ahead for cash: nearby restaurants are cash-only, and the nearest atm is at 7-11, about a 20 minute walk away.

I had a really pleasant stay at Kivala Hostel. The place was very clean and well looked after, especially the bathrooms and sleeping areas, which made a big difference for a hostel. The hosts were friendly and easy to communicate with, and the check-in process was smooth. The location is quiet and peaceful, which I personally liked, though it’s a little away from the main busy areas — something to keep in mind if you want everything right outside your door. The common areas were comfortable and practical, and the overall atmosphere felt calm and respectful rather than noisy or chaotic. Overall, it’s great value for money and a solid choice if you want a clean, comfortable, and relaxed place to stay in Kinmen. I’d happily stay here again.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel and cannot recommend it enough. Everything was fantastic from start to finish. The highlight of my stay was definitely the owner; she is incredibly kind and helpful. She went above and beyond to assist me in renting an electric scooter, which made exploring the area so much easier. The property was spotlessly clean, and the location is very convenient. There is a convenience store just a 2-minute walk away, which was very handy. If you are looking for a great place to stay with top-notch service, this is it.

Location & vibe: Tumbler Travel is located in Jinning Township, not right in the busy center but close enough to key spots like Kinmen National Park and the airport — it’s only a short ride away, which was super convenient. Some reviewers said the area isn’t super lively with restaurants right outside, but it’s peaceful and a good base for exploring by bike or scooter.  Cleanliness & facilities: Guests generally mention that the rooms are clean and comfortable, with free Wi-Fi and basic amenities like air-conditioning, a fridge, and reliable water. It’s not a luxury place — think simple yet functional.  One recommended feature is that it offers free airport transfer (with prior notice), which is handy if you’re flying into Kinmen.  Service & atmosphere: Reviews note that the host was welcoming and helpful, especially if you’re a solo traveler. Multiple guests talked about a smooth check-in and staff who were happy to share tips about the island or help with directions.  It’s described as a nice youth hostel vibe, with shared spaces and a relaxed feel — good for meeting other travelers if you’re not in a hurry to disappear into your room.  Food & convenience: A couple of guests pointed out that there isn’t much in the way of on-site dining or restaurants right next door, so you might have to plan where your meals are if you’re not riding around or exploring on foot.
