I recently stayed here as a Belgian Chinese traveler, and even though my Chinese isn’t very strong, I was welcomed with so much warmth. This hostel is a true hidden gem, tucked away from the typical tourist trails in a quiet part of the village. It’s the perfect location: right by the fields and some very trendy coffee shops, yet only a 5-minute scooter ride from the main bay and the best surf spots. The owners, Shuiku (水库) and Xiaoxiao (笑笑), really made my trip. Shuiku immediately helped me sort out a scooter and personally showed me where to find the best waves, while Xiaoxiao’s English is quite good, which made everything so much easier. They also pointed me toward some local restaurants that were all absolutely delicious. The vibe of the place is just great. It’s incredibly clean because the cleaning lady and Shuiku himself clean the place several times a day. I loved the design of the indoor chill-out area, though sitting outside to enjoy the tropical weather was just as good. There’s a washing machine which is super handy, and you can rent surfboards for a very fair, cheap price. Because the owners' friends drop by almost daily, there’s always a lively, authentic atmosphere. I met a great mix of foreign tourists and Chinese solo travelers trekking around the island by bike or motorcycle. Many Chinese couples and families where staying too, it is very kid-friendly too. I even ended up meeting a French girl there, and we spent a whole week surfing together. A very warm and clean B&B opened by a kind couple from Shanghai, who adopted stray cats and dogs. The B&B is Moroccan in style, and was built bit by bit by themselves. Living there feels like being at home. The handsome boss cooks delicious dishes. We ate at the B&B for two consecutive days. There is a parrot in the B&B that stays on the proprietress's head all day long. It's so cute. The B&B is very close to the beach, just a short walk away. It is best to go there at dusk when there are fewer people and the scenery is beautiful, with many people surfing. A few minutes' drive from the B&B is ”Golden Beach and Silver Land”, a niche beach, which is a good place to watch the sunrise. You can ask the boss to book a boat ticket to Dazhou Island, which is very beautiful. There is no shortage of beaches in Wanning, but for beaches with fewer people and more beautiful scenery, it is recommended to go to Xinqun Bay. If you are lucky enough to come to Xinqun Bay, it is recommended that you stay in this humane B&B for a few nights. It will definitely be worth the trip.

Ideal location if you want to go surfing and you can rent boards and wetsuits through the hotel directly. Room was clean and comfortable, the staff super friendly and responsive. Downside is the noise from the town until 2am, but thats not the hotels fault and affects all of them in the region. I even read of people who couldn't sleep from the noise on the island aplartment 2.5km away. The music is really extremely loud and fireworks happen aswell. But as said, not the hotels fault. Would come again for surfing and theres lot of food options and convenience stores around aswell.

An absolutely wonderful and unforgettable stay. The six-bed room is very spacious, clean, and comfortable, with an en-suite shower. Everything is designed to make getting around easy: electric scooters are available at a very reasonable price, and an electric scooter is even provided free of charge for short trips, which is a real bonus. The free transfers between the train station and the hostel (both ways) are a real plus and make arrival and departure very simple. But what truly sets this place apart is the manager: exceptionally kind, always available, attentive, and ready to help in any situation, even generously offering food. If I ever return to Hainan, this will be the only place I stay without hesitation. The location is also ideal for exploring the island: Sanya and Haikou are less than an hour away by train. A huge thank you to the manager for his warm welcome and remarkable hospitality.

Especially satisfied, the housekeeper is very enthusiastic, pick up and drop off, the room is very clean, much better than the hotel in Lingshui. The main thing to play out is clean. This is bright everywhere in the house, and the cleaning even changes the pillow core. If you bring your children out to play, you must live here and highly recommend it. You can see the sea in the morning, and you feel good in a day.

Wanning is the top choice for your trip. Staying here allows you to feel the gentle sea breeze and the warm greeting of the sunrise. The midday sun casts a beautiful, jelly-like glow on the beach, and the sunset paints the sky with breathtaking colors. The vibe at Surfers Garden is chill and cool but a little bit too much. My room had no towels, no toilet paper. Cabinet to store my things in the shared room couldn’t lock. The room itself can’t lock from the outside as well and too often when I was looking for someone at the reception there were no one … When you finally catch someone to give you a towel, be aware that it’s a disposable towel. So better bring your own. In the morning, don’t hope to get a coffee at their bar before 9am or 10am. The whole place looks a bit messy and the reception space looks unfinished. Staff is friendly tho. The guesthouse is surrounded by many little shops and local restaurants. You can reach the Ri Yue Wan beach where you will find bar/coffee, clubs, shops, surfing clubs etc. in 15 min walking or 5min by e-bike. Ri Yue Wan beach area is definitely the place to be to enjoy a good “beach/surfer” vibe sipping a cocktail in front of the beach. At night, this place turn into a music festival area where everyone display live show music and DJ and expect fireworks on the beach almost every 15min. If you are looking for surfing club in this area, I would recommend to check Shaka surf club. Good service, good price, and so far the most professional to me at Ri Yue Wan.
