The hotel is relatively quiet and includes breakfast, which is collected at ten o'clock. The room is large, with refrigerator and microwave. Please note that the hotel does not provide mineral water. The service is generally good.

I probably won't be staying at this hotel again. The front desk staff had a strange attitude. I arrived just after noon, and they warmly apologized, explaining the room wasn't ready. They estimated a two-hour wait but assured me it would definitely be ready by 3 PM, which is reasonable. So, I waited. At 2 PM, I checked again, and they said it would be another 45 minutes. Again, this seemed reasonable, so I continued waiting. When I inquired at 3 PM (each time with the same staff member), I was bluntly told the room still wasn't ready, and they had no idea when it would be. This was particularly frustrating as 3 PM is the standard check-in time.

The hotel was very clean except the shower area which had a bit of soap residue and was slightly slippery. The free breakfast was great with all you can drink coffee and fruit juices, with hot items including sausage eggs and pancake. The gym and pool was not heavily utilized and provided good privacy during my stay.

This hotel is next to the tallest building in Pittsburgh. You can go inside the building and visit it, where you can overlook Pittsburgh and see the nearby CMU campus. There is a bus passing by the door, which makes it convenient to go anywhere. This is why we chose it. The only downside is that the American breakfast is not that tasty. But in the United States, people rarely have breakfast in the morning. It's usually after 11 o'clock.

Hotel facilities are relatively new, slightly remote, there is no place to eat around, there is its own parking lot for parking, there is a river in the south, there are many wild black-necked geese nearby, as well as patches of grass and wild flowers.

Joshua CoitThis place was extremely clean, had many amenities such as complimentary designer toiletries, tea bottle opener, wine glasses and of course the clawfoot bathtub. One would say it was easy to forget this unit even had a rain tile large walk in shower.
The only down side I would say, the hotel does not have a front desk so everything is all virtual, a little different than the traditional check in, however if I would have read prior to booking the process would have been extremely painless. The supper staff over the phone were tremendously helpful.

The overall experience was great. The area is very quiet and conveniently located for both dining and sightseeing. It's incredibly close to both the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University, just a few minutes' walk away. The breakfast is standard American fare, which might be a slight drawback for Chinese visitors. However, all in all, it was fine, and I would definitely choose to stay at this hotel again on my next visit!

The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. The continental breakfast was decent, but not great. The location is fantastic if you're in town for a ballgame. However, my room was at the very north end of the hotel near the highway and the road noises at night was pretty bad/loud due to the elevated roadway.
The reason for my terrible rating on cleanliness is that when I turned down my sheets, I had black flecks of something all in my sheets, as well as a long dark hair under the top sheet I could see. Additionally, I had some sort of dead bug on my side table. It looked like potentially a bed bug, so I didn't get much sleep the only night I was there.
I'd recommend this hotel to stay at with a few caveats of asking for a room on the south end of the hotel as well as checking your sheets as soon as you get into your room.

Tryp was awesome. Great historical location and renovation. Location was fun, safe. Staff was excellent. Will strongly recommend.
Only one issue - apparently a new rule was implemented regarding checking in early afternoon. After a 6 hour drive I arrived at 1:15pm and asked to check in. I travel for a living so I was a bit disappointed to hear it would cost an additional $50 to get my room an 1 1/2 ”early”. I asked if it was ready and was told yes. So after a 6 hour drive my choice was to sit in the lobby for an hour and a half+ or pay the $50. I said I understood if I was trying to check in at like 9:00 am.
When checking out Tryp made the experience right.
Overall, as a frequent visitor to pittsburgh I look forward to returning and highly recommend.

Guest UserThe hotel is located in the city center, with convenient transportation, nearby companies, more famous universities, safer during the day, and more black people at night. Hotel swimming pool, bar, you can feel the culture inside without going out. It is not safe to swipe the card without losing the password.
