Harbin's Hidden Gem: A Retro Hotel in Laodaowai | Qian Tong Hotel is Super Photogenic! This hotel is housed in a beautiful old Republic-era red brick building, featuring vintage French-inspired public areas. With its floral walls, contrasting dining tables, and classic black-and-white checkered floors, every corner feels like it has its own built-in filter, perfect for stunning retro photos. The courtyard is quiet and elegant, offering an open-air space to relax and unwind. It's a peaceful oasis amidst the hustle and bustle, instantly soothing away travel fatigue. Both hygiene and service are excellent. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are warm and attentive. Plus, it's right next to the Laodaowai snack street, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. If you're planning a trip to Harbin, you absolutely have to stay here!

Nobody told me about the complimentary late-night congee or the Song Dynasty aesthetic dress-up experience. I don't know if they're actually offered, but I certainly didn't get to try them, so I can't comment. The double afternoon tea buffet is served in the lobby from 2 PM to 4 PM, for anyone wondering. Cleanliness: This was really poor. There were eggshells, and hair under the pillow. The duvet upstairs also had eyelashes on it. Although they politely cleaned it up, it was still a bit off-putting. Location-wise, it's really not far from Central Street, which is great! Facilities: The bathroom door is really awkward. My child pushed it open once and someone inside got hit in the head, which hurt a lot. But the biggest issue has to be the laundry room! Can't there be a set time for using it? People shouldn't be doing laundry at 11 or 12 at night. We ran into some inconsiderate guests who were really loud, shouting even after the front desk repeatedly reminded them. Finally, thanks for the room upgrade, though it ended up being right opposite the laundry room. I didn't sleep well at all. They did send earplugs later, but they rang the doorbell, which was a bit inconvenient. They could have just messaged me through the app, as no reply would mean I was asleep. Thanks anyway, and I hope your hotel gets better and better!

Traveling to Harbin with my child, our first stop was the Xana Hotel (Harbin Central Street Sophia Church). The hotel's location is perfect, situated in the middle-north section of Central Street, making it incredibly convenient for getting anywhere. Zhaolin Park is just 100 meters east, across the street, and the main Central Street is 50 meters west. St. Sophia Cathedral is about 500-800 meters away on foot. The hotel lobby was super cozy, offering a stamp check-in and afternoon tea. The staff provided excellent service. Since I hadn't planned my trip and decided to go last minute, I asked about Harbin's specialties. They even added me on WeChat and sent me a guide to dining, entertainment, and attractions around the hotel. The breakfast was incredibly rich, meeting all the nutritional needs (meat, eggs, milk, fruit) required for traveling with a child. On the day of check-out, I decided last minute to take some travel photos with my child near St. Sophia, which delayed our check-out time. The staff kindly extended our check-out until 2 PM for free. All in all, our first stop in Harbin made us feel so warm. If you're staying around Central Street, Xana is definitely the best choice!!! I've already recommended it to many friends since returning to Beijing. 😙😙😙

The hotel's decor style is very new and different from the older Holiday Inn Express, perhaps they've updated their product line. The front desk lady quietly upgraded our room type, and the room was very characteristic of Northeast China, haha. It's spacious and very clean, with not a single water stain on the faucets or showerhead, which made my OCD very happy. It's a shame we had to switch hotels later to go elsewhere, otherwise, I would have definitely stayed here longer. Breakfast was also very rich. Thumbs up!

The Harbin Yufeng Hotel boasts an excellent location, within walking distance to Central Street and Saint Sophia Cathedral, which is super convenient. The front desk staff and room attendants are warm, attentive, and provide thoughtful service throughout your stay. The hotel also offers a lovely afternoon tea and popsicles, along with all-day coffee, truly fantastic amenities. Beyond the standard toiletries, the rooms even include disposable towels, contact lens solution, and a lens case – they've thought of everything! I saw reviews before my trip saying it was a great value hotel, but after staying here, I realized it's truly beyond expectations. They even give you a small gift when you check out. Highly recommended!

They provided a complimentary afternoon tea, and on the second floor, there's a Russian restaurant and a 'tieguodun' (iron pot stew) place, plus they offered discount coupons. There are many great restaurants and attractions around the hotel, and Central Street is beautiful. It was a really great experience!

Great location with a spacious parking lot. The staff were very welcoming and responsive. I accidentally booked the wrong dates, and the hotel staff were incredibly helpful in accommodating the change. The hotel is right next to a ski resort, and they even offered free skiing passes for the whole family, which was a nice bonus!

The room is spacious and gets great sunlight. The disposable amenities provided are top-notch for a hotel in this price range. The front desk service was excellent; they met all my needs within five minutes. The location is the best I've experienced in all my stays in Harbin – it's super close to Central Street, Flood Control Memorial Tower, and the subway station. The Hongzhuan Street morning market is right downstairs, and there are plenty of great restaurants within a 10-minute walk. This was the first time I've returned to the hotel so many times in one day: after shopping, after dinner, after buying drinks, and after visiting the morning market, and even brought back breakfast! The fried yellow croaker for breakfast was delicious, and they even froze the ingredients I packed the day before and then cooked them for me. I've stayed in many hotels, but this was by far the most satisfying experience.

What's it like to be a ”castle owner” for a night? The Sun Island Castle Hotel, located on the scenic banks of the Songhua River, boasts a charming European architectural style. The first floor is home to various small eateries, while the entire second floor is dedicated to the hotel guest rooms. From the third floor, you can directly access the cross-river cable car, and the fourth floor houses the Chocolate Castle Museum. This museum features an incredibly diverse collection of chocolates, and outside, there's an observation deck – a superb spot to admire the Songhua River's night view. The hotel's location is excellent, offering incredibly convenient transportation. Besides the cable car, you can also take a cruise ship across the river. The sightseeing bus also stops here, making it easy to visit all the attractions on Sun Island, with the freedom to hop on and off as you please. This time, I stayed in the most affordable ”Viscount Interior Room.” The room was spacious and well-equipped, with furnishings that truly captured the grand essence of a castle. The only minor drawback was the lack of a window, meaning I couldn't enjoy the natural scenery outside – a small regret. It's worth noting that, compared to the opulent guest rooms, the hotel's front desk seemed a bit understated. The small reception counter is tucked away in a corner on the first floor, which felt a little out of sync with the ”Chocolate Castle” theme. Personally, I suggest designing the front desk in the shape of chocolate and having the reception staff wear more distinctive attire. Wouldn't that better align with the magical theme of this place? Overall, this was a surprisingly delightful stay, highly recommended for those who appreciate unique hotels.
