Convenient location, with Nike and other outlet shops, different types of food along the street. However, hotel is a little bit old and old style if you don’t mind, you can hear the air con, pipes or the sound of the next room at night, so if you are “lucky” to get one of these rooms, try to ask for another one.
Be aware not to open the window, there’s mosquitoes to annoy you whole night. Remember to get mosquito repellent at the convenient store nearby.
Breakfast include vegetarian selection with buffet style, eat all you want.

Clean is small but super clean and comfy. Breakfast choice was good and changed every day throughout the entire 3 days of stay. The additional plus point would be the free laundry room at Ground Floor which you can wash for your clothes and dry them free. Staffs are polite and kind to assist you with any enquires that you have. All in all, a pleasant stay at City Inn Hotel (Taichung) and would return again for the same hotel the next trip.
Lastly kudos to staff - Emma who has helped to maintain the cleanliness of Room 701 throughout the entire 3 days. Appreciate your effort. Thank you 😊

Location: near the train station which was super convenient for us. was a short 5min walk away. Family mart right beside the hotel is a bonus too!
Room: spacious and clean. our room had a bathtub! downside - very limited powerpoints available. must to bring travel adapter.
Laundry: the free laundry was super helpful for our trip, even tho it's self service. laundry room is on the basement, which isn't accessible from the main lift and require climbing stairs. able to purchase laundry powder for 30TWD from the counter, which was convenient. laundry room has 2 washers and 2 dryers, took us about 1.5h-2h to complete the washing and drying cycles together.

The location of the hotel is good. We didn't drive. We mainly rely on buses to get in and out. It takes 5 minutes to walk to the bus station. The bus service in Taichung is not very frequent, so you have to wait. There are several restaurants around the hotel.
The accommodation experience was good, the hotel was clean and hygienic, and the breakfast had rich food choices. Coffee and fruity water are available in the lobby, which is a plus in summer.
There is a free self-service laundry room and gym on the ground floor of the hotel.

I took my child to stay in July, but when I returned to Hong Kong, I found that the charging plug was forgotten. Later, I communicated with the hotel through email, and the hotel quickly replied that they found the charging head and could send it back at their own expense. First-class service, responsive to requests!

We are visiting Alishan, Sun-moon lake so make a stop at Taichung and we find this is a nice hotel and nice room and facilities are well equipt , we like hotel breadfast at the cafe which supply a bit variety of Asian food + American food too. It's a pity we only for a night , next trip I will plan to come back here for few days stay to explore Taitung.

Location is quite a distance from the city centre. Need to walk 10-15min to find local shops and eateries. Just across the hotel got a good-size supermarket. Bought local fruits for breakfast. No malls, night markets or shopping areas nearby. Room is spacious but rather old that needs upgrading. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good but selection rather limited. No yogurt and limited selection of fruits. Overall a reasonable good stay.

GGuest UserWould like to highlight an issue we encountered with regards to our deposit and certain charges that were made to us but which we had not incurred.
When we were checking out, we asked to have a look at our statement of charges as we understood that any additional charges would be offset by the deposit placed with the hotel. We had dinner at ”The Prime -Grill and Lounge” on one of the nights and just wanted to check if the charges were right. The statement showed 3 separate bills that were not incurred by us and were all purchases of alcohol, which we found strange.
When we brought this up with the front desk, the staff did not seem surprised at all with the error or sought to verify the same anywhere nor were we given any apology for the mistake. It was as though she already knew that those 3 charges were unanauthorised transactions and said that the hotel would rectify the issue with the bank in respect of our deposit. The front desk was also very adamant to not let us speak to her manager about the issue.
We just wanted to highlight the above because we would usually just trust the hotel to refund the right amount of deposit without checking, especially when using credit card to pay the same. But it may be worth checking when it comes to this hotel as based on the reaction which we got from the front desk, it seems that such mistakes whether intentional or not have happened before. We also hope that the hotel would do some sort of investigation into how issues like this could happen.

What's Good:
1. This is one of the most interesting hotel I stayed in. I like the balcony, can suntan. the layout and design of the room is fabulous. In the morning, when sun shines in, the room is so beautiful.
2. I also like that the room has multiple international plugs, guest don't need to bring international plugs. Hotels all over should adopt this idea.
3. The staff at the counter service very good. Very helpful ladies.
Areas for improvement:
1. The area near cabinet should install a light, at night I want to retrieve my clothes, I cant even see clearly.
2. I like that the toilet bowl has bidet. Too bad its not working. Please repair! Not very nice to rent our an unserviceable room. It's like when you paid $5 for an apple, the vendor gives you a partially rotten apple and expect you to accept it without discount. As a customer, what impression will you have of the vendor?
3. Roof top under repair. Early morning, I was woken up by heavy drilling and hammering. The hotel should be aware there is a guest staying right below. I have to call to ask them to stop. I understand repair needs to be done. Can arrange repairs on days when the 7th floor room is unoccupied?
4. I don't know if the room is infested with rats or ******* or if someone is staying above the 7th floor unit. In the middle of the night, 2-3am, heavy footsteps can be heard, you can hear the floor creek with each steps as if going to collapse!

SSiSiriThis is a very great place to stay at. It’s very convenient as it’s in a walking distance from Taichung Station and bus stops. I stayed for one night in a bunk bed ‘room’. Every bunk bed has its own space, counter, wardrobe, safe and enough power outlets. The washroom area is also well facilitated with a separate zone of wet and dry area in each shower room. They also have noodles time and a light breakfast.
Overall, it was a nice stay, would recommend for a solo traveler and will most probably stay here again if I come to Taichung 😊

GGuest UserThere's a lot that I like about this hotel. Our room was nice and large for the price. The decor in our room was beautiful, especially the wooden furniture. The toiletries by Cha Tzu Tang are the best! The location was great for us, being near or very near to useful bus lines. I would love to see more fresh fruit in the breakfast buffet. I would *really* like it if they have black coffee as an option in the room. (Inhouse Hotel Grand: If you're reading this, please can we have black coffee in the rooms that we can make for ourselves?)

Big room, soft and comfortable bed, and equipped with modern facilities, acceptable price. Perfect accommodation for couples. There’s 199 bus station on the side of the hotel, if you wanna go to fengjia night market ( 20-30 mins ). And 160 bus to xinwuri THSR about 10mins walking by foot to the station. Nice breakfast
Disadvantage:
Quite a distance if you want to travel, and have to transfer at least one bus. have to walk 20mins from irent parking lot. And we got confused about the check-in reception, it’s quite dark from the outside.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is located quite a distance away from the TRA station and shopping malls but bus stops are within walking distance. Buses to Nantou is located right beside the hotel, suitable for tourists making a trip to Sun Moon Lake or Qingjing Farm etc. Breakfast is not bad with some variety. There is also a vending machine with food and drinks for convenience and free coffee/tea available 24/7. Coin laundry is also available but doesn't have a timer.

GGuest UserIf check-in process becomes fully automated, the personal touch for service will deem to be as cold as a robot, and may spoilt the mood for traveller whenever we wish to ask questions about travel activities.
Next, after office hours, the shutter roller of the front counter is closed, hence there will be no access to water dispenser. Maybe hotel should consider to install a water dispenser for stayers to refill water, etc

GGuest UserI booked a triple room for myself as I wanted a bigger room but was given a 4 ppl room with 2 double beds. Very helpful n efficient check in staff who did everything from checking n fixing the musty smell in my room n showing me how to take the buses. Great location w bus stops for local buses n buses to other cities right outside, n great local food just around the corner. There’s also a small outlet mall n Taichung park within 5 min walk. Very modern deco. Only downside is no fridge in room n no proper room makeup. Overall, great place!

Hhoo7749You can walk or take a bus from Taichung Station (several buses can get off at Renai Hospital Station). It is a very convenient hotel. The space is not big but the staff is very clean and comfortable. It will be a priority for your next trip to Taichung. Next to it, the Yanagawa Christmas lights decoration has been completed, but the waterfront landscape trail will not be opened until December 15.
