Taormina Palace Hotel

The door lock didn’t work. The breakfast started late for me. The walk to town was dangerous

The beds were very comfortable. The rooms were clean, but the natural gas smell was awful. It smelled like natural gas outside the room and it seeped into the room giving me a headache. We brought it to the attention of the hotel, but they said that was normal, no danger to us. We asked if we could get the fan turned on to remove the smell from our room, but they said they couldn’t until April 1st…will not be returning to this property

Review: My recent stay at taormina palace was incredibly disappointing and frustrating. The photos displayed on the hotel's website were not an accurate representation of the reality we experienced. Instead of the promised serene view, we found ourselves facing a noisy street with constant traffic, making it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep. Upon discovering this discrepancy, we immediately contacted the hotel staff and requested a room change. Despite our pleas, the manager claimed there were no available rooms and showed no willingness to accommodate our needs. To make matters worse, they refused to issue a refund for our dissatisfaction.

The best feature of this property is its location right by a cable car to the Isola Bella Beach, the town central street and next door to parking garage. The rooms are large but design is very basic, IKEA like. The was no shower door so the bathroom door was always wet. Breakfast was sufficient. Front staff is very nice and helpful.

It was very good. The few issues were handled quickly and very nicely. Breakfast is good for price. No evening restaurant until Summer time I guess… beautiful views!! Hot tub is not really hot… boohoo. Quick walk to 20 tests and bars. Not a lot of sidewalks going up hill to piazza. Be careful.

We were attending a family wedding and occupied 7 rooms for 5 nights. The rooms were spacious, clean. The breakfast was substantial and you could order off the menu. Service was excellent, they responded to our needs for taxis, airport transfers, salon appointments, directions etc. The location was good, you had to walk uphill to the corso umberto, but not too difficult. Overall a good value.

Disappointing Experience: Bugs in the Bed Ruined Our Stay My recent stay at Taormina Palace was unfortunately marred by a rather unpleasant encounter with bug bites from sleeping in the bed. The two out of the three of us who slept on the bed, woke up to find bug bites over our legs and arms. These bug bites resemble bites of bed bugs. I have posted photos of our bites and a potential bug casing which was found in the bed. We immediately reported the issue to the front desk, and while the staff were apologetic and sent housekeeping in to change our linens, the next morning we awoke with further bites. The hotel staff stated that we could have received bites from a number of bugs outside the hotel, but only the two of us who slept in the bed have bites. The third person who slept on the sofa bed does not have any bites. We found it difficult to relax and enjoy our stay, constantly worrying about the possibility of encountering more pests and the hazard of bringing bugs on the next leg of our trip and then back home to Canada. After checking out, an email was sent asking for a refund due to this unpleasant experience. The hotel staff stated no refund can be implemented due to them not finding any bed bugs or bugs upon inspection. Pictures of our bites and a potential bug casing were sent to the hotel. No refund or reimbursement has been given. Upon arriving back home, much of our clothing and belongings were thrown out to take the upmost precaution in ensuring no bed bugs enter our homes. I would advise future guests to exercise caution and thoroughly inspect their accommodations before settling in.
