As a Hilton Honors member, my stay at the hotel met the usual satisfactory quality. Peter at the front desk was excellent in accommodating our needs, and overall, we had a good time. However, I want to caution future guests to adjust their expectations: • The location, while quiet, is farther from the center and lakeside, requiring a car and likely keeping you at the hotel in the evening. • Our room, possibly the least expensive, was extremely small with limited space for sitting or even opening our suitcases. • Staff training or updated information is necessary; the website mentioned a happy hour, but there was none on Friday. Conflicting details about breakfast and check-out times were provided. • While amenities were nice, the steam room and sauna floor were dangerously slippery, leading to a hard fall and injury. Additionally, the pool water was not clean, with numerous hairs inside. • Some equipment, like the coffee machine, was not working.

The hotel is right on the edge of Lake Taupo. It is clean, the rooms are big, and the price/performance ratio is very good.

Lake Taupo Lodge is over the top amazing! Gary and Shirley have done a beautiful job of keeping this property in the best of condition! My husband and I stayed in the Wright Suite for the last 3 nights and it was wonderful! Beautiful shower, wonderful room and comfortable bed, lovely outdoor terrace to view the beautiful lake and beautiful sunrise with the sounds of nature all around you. The grounds are outstanding with beautiful gardens and lovely topiary everywhere. Excellent coffee maker, fantastic breakfast and great recommendations for dinner in Taupo. Taxi service was easy and quick and we found many fun bars, etc. in town. We even were able to watch our hometown team from the USA play Monday night football. My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights the day after our wedding. With all the stress of planning a wedding (especially during covid) it was exactly what we needed and more. Peter and Nina looked after us so well and treated us like we were their own. Upon arrival we had a cheese platter with champagne and chocolate waiting for us in our room, canapés before dinner, a 3 course meal, a massive breakfast with plenty of options! A couples massage and a picnic. The food was outstanding and you can be assured that you will not go without! There is not one thing at Chalet Eiger that we would change/think needs improving - we truly think it is perfect. After a crazy wedding this get a way was exactly what we needed, we were able to relax completely here, Great conversations and recommendations of what to do in Taupo and the most beautiful dogs - Bella and Rufus. Thank you so much for having us and looking after us after such a stressful lead up to our wedding, we hope to be back very soon!

Stayed 2 nights here over Labour weekend. Has been on our list for a long time, and the opportunity arose when the Border closure meant access for Kiwi's was a little easier. A sensational 2 days fro the moment we arrived. Have never experienced service like it. The Lodge was full for the weekend...full of a wide range of NZérs enjoying their own backyard, and it was great to chat in the Lounge around the fire after what were 2 nights of amazing culinary excellence. Cottages are awesome, right on the river, and we've never heard the ”Birdsong”like it at sunrise each morning. There were so many extra touches, each one shows why they are consistently in the Top 10 Lodges in the World. Wow...we need to get back there

Just by the lake, the scenery is very good, driving to the restaurant concentration area is also 7 or 8 minutes; the two-story small row, very pleasant, there are two single beds upstairs, a large bed downstairs, toilets up and down Bathroom; there is also a small public hot spring pool.

The hotel is very new, the facilities are very complete, the kitchen is laundry and dry, the bed is very comfortable. The front desk got off work very early, but Ctrip’s order had a problem, and the hotel staff had been helping to coordinate the stay and praised one. It is necessary to criticize the background efficiency of Ctrip, and the hotel will only receive confirmation after a few hours of ordering. There are a lot of accommodation options in Taupo, but this one can still come next time and see many foreigners also live here.

We had a lovely 2 day stay in Taupo recently, The Gables was amazing. We where greeted with a warm smile and the owner recognized me immediately as I had emailed for our booking. We where taken to our room, heat pump turned on for us and where asked if we need anything. Our room was spacious, clean and very well appointed. We even had a small jar of home baking for us to enjoy. We will definently be staying there again.

We spent three nights at this very comfortable hotel in Taupo in early June. We were visiting our daughter who lives in the town but didn’t have enough room for us to stay. I was after a hotel with a view of the beautiful lake, but still within walking distance to town as we didn’t have a car. Suncourt Hotel fitted the brief perfectly. We booked a Premier Deluxe Lakeview Studio room. The room that we were allotted was on the top floor. There was no lift, so you needed to climb the outdoor steps with luggage. Our room was very large, with a king size bed, a desk, two comfortable chairs and a coffee table. The bathroom was huge with a walk-in shower and a free-standing bath. There was also a very large balcony with a stunning view of the lake and a further two chairs and a small table. The reception staff were very helpful not only with our original reservation, but also when we needed to add a night and with any questions that we had. The only downside to me was that their restaurant was not open on the evening that we checked in, which was Sunday, and also not for breakfast on the Monday morning. We did know this in advance though, and as the town was easily walkable it wasn’t a problem. We had two breakfasts in the restaurant, and they were excellent. As we had other dinner plans, we didn’t have dinner in the restaurant, but our daughter and her partner have eaten there and loved it. If you are looking for a very large hotel room with a view, then Suncourt is for you. I believe they have much larger apartment style rooms which would be more suitable for families, although we didn’t get to see any of these.
