Extremely friendly hosts and beautiful farm house in the middle of Tavistock countryside. This is a working farm so please be respectful of this. Sandra and Arthur do their very best to not only run a farm but cater for their guests. I felt like I was staying with my own family I felt that welcome. My dog Rusty also enjoyed her stay too and was well catered for. Breakfast is wholesome and tasty, you must try the fresh eggs! An extremely restful nights sleep with no sound but wildlife. Plenty of walking if you like that, the town is about 10 min drive away. Plenty of places to eat. Sandra also offers a 3 course homemade dinner for £15 which I'd also recommend! WiFi is quite patchy in the bedrooms but fine signal downstairs. If you would like a farm stay experience I would recommend it, if you are expecting less authentic I suggest you book a Premier Inn.

We stayed here as I wanted somewhere with dinner on site so we could get some work done without distractions. I must admit I didn’t look at the location too much and as we drove down a long single track road in the countryside I did wonder what I’d done! We parked the car and were immediately met by the lady owner who showed us the goats. The place is in a beautiful setting and there is a lovely courtyard garden as well as countryside views. Our dinner was excellent- huge portions of home cooked food and I had to sit for a while after finishing dessert before going upstairs to our room. The wifi was ok, it worked well enough for the work we were doing but probably isn’t up to gaming. The room was large and had 2 beds and a good selection of teas and coffees. If you like sleeping in late then take a sleep mask as there was no blackout blind 😉 We had a good breakfast and then saw the goats again before leaving. A great experience and very different to a chain hotel, great fun.

Lovely farmhouse in Tavistock, couple very welcoming and the room / bathroom was immaculate. Stunning views in an idyllic location, very relaxing and comfortable bed (I slept like a log). Full english breakfast in the morning was delicious and lasts all day (I would definitely stay again). Great value for money.

Lovely old working farm in a great setting. Friendly and interactive couple running it. The entrance hall was cluttered and dirty - not a great first impression. Whilst certainly a working farm there was no reason for the lack of cleaning in the room. The sheets and dated duvet cover were stained and the towels "well used". The bathroom taps were so loose that one had to hold the spouts in order to stop the whole unit from spinning in order turn them on or off!! The heaters in the bathroom did not work - and judging by previous comments they have no done so for a good while. And the heaters are needed in this old farmhouse. The breakfast was hearty and nothing was too much trouble for the affable and attentive hosts. We enjoyed our stay - but just a little effort with the most basic of proactive maintenance and cleaning of the rooms and care over presentation of the common areas and some updated linen and towels would take this to a much more enjoyable and value orientated experience. The rooms are currently very much over priced for the experience one actually gets. Overall an interesting experience in a lovely setting but sadly the owners fall unnecessarily short on actually delivering what they are charging for.

As it was It was very much over priced for what it actually is. They are charging what the Bedford Hotel charges (although a very different experience I realise) - albeit without breakfast but for not so much there are plenty of tasty options 90 seconds from this hotel. Overall an interesting experience in a lovely setting but sadly the owners fall unnecessarily short on actually delivering what they are charging for.
