Trailsman Lodge

The location is perfect for starting your day for the Cabot trail. They have a super nice view. Our room: In our case, 2 light bulbs (the one at the night stand and the standing light don't work) only one on the desk, the ceiling and the bathroom work. The man at the front desk was very nice. The breakfast is included but we decided to sleep in instead so I don't know what they offers.

we liked the big room and the lovely water view, very nice to have easy access and ground level rooms. our host went above and beyond to keep us happy, we even had a ping pong table.

We spent one night in this lodge. It is along the main road so the location is convient. But we didn't get any noise of passing traffic. The room is comfortable and a simple breakfast is included. As the price I paid, I would say that it is a good deal.

The room was modern and clean with lots of light. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were soft. Great view of the lake with Adirondack chairs. Included hot breakfast. Very friendly and accommodating. A surprise of a gem in Baddeck. Would highly recommend!!

Our family found the Trailsman to be clean & well maintained. The staff were friendly, helpful & professional. The included breakfast was generous & well prepared. The grounds were well kept and the pool, though small, was convenient for families. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Trailsman a great place to stay, while in the Baddeck area of Cape Breton.

The Trailsman Lodge was way better than I expected based on some of the recent negative reviews. I spent 3 wonderful nights here exploring Baddeck, the Cabot Trail and Cape Breton island; the reviewer who claimed they couldn't see the lake from a lake view room must've arrived and left in the dark : you couldn't be any closer to the lake, and even if you can't see it from your room, it's right outside at breakfast. At this time of year, the many geese had numerous cute little babies to look at on the lawn that gently slopes down from the deck to the lake, which is beautiful. The room itself was quiet and comfortable, with two queen beds, a couple of lovely armchairs and some outside red chairs on the deck overlooking the views. It has all the normal facilities you'd expect, such as large fridge, coffee machine, lots of wardrobe hanging space, ironing board, large flatscreen TV etc. The bathroom was beautifully tiled, with fabulous shower pressure, a hair dryer and plenty of room around the washbasin for your toiletries. Maybe this is a seasonal thing: breakfast was table service, so you could order what you wanted and it was brought to you : delicious banana cake and fruits, as well as bacon, sausage, toasts, hashbrowns and the best scrambled eggs I had during a 12 day trip around NS,NB & PEI. There was also cereals and choices of coffee and juice. So, absolutely no complaints or issues at all : I would happily stay here again!

Stayed here with my friends snowmobiling the highlands. The bed was very comfortable and the comforter was nice. Fridge in the room. Big screen TV. Lots of parking. 15 minutes from off road parking area. We had two snowmobile trailers and two truck and you could fit 4 more in the parking lots easy enough.
