We chose the Hyatt but ended up at a Motel 6! My sister and I are retired and booked a staycation at this hotel. Our first impression was how absolutely filthy the floors were (and they were never cleaned the 4 days we were there). The carpeting in the halls was vacuumed once even though it really needed it. The hotel looks used & beat up- badly used. Other than the front desk, the staff (except one lovely lady at breakfast) are sullen and had the air of being overworked and under appreciated. We ran into a worker in the elevator who told us they hated working there. That always says something about the management in my view. Their listing shows a heated pool. It was not. While it was nice enough, there were no umbrellas and therefore not a good spot to hang out for long. You are supposed to need to swipe your room key to call an elevator, but that function was not working. On the bright side, breakfast was very nice and abundant- eggs, sausage, bagels, cereal, fresh fruit, etc. even though the breakfast area was massively uncomfortable. Front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. Could have been great, but really can't recommend although the area is interesting enough and close to downtown dc to be walkable/"metro able".
