Grimm's Schlossapartments Würzburg - by Homekeepers

Beautiful, quiet location, easy to find thanks to Google Maps despite the road construction. Check-in and check-out were absolutely problem-free. First impression, everything newly renovated, very attractive and absolutely clean, spacious and tastefully furnished apartment, everything you need for a short vacation. We felt comfortable. Tram for a comfortable trip to Würzburg (day ticket plus for 2 people + children only 7 euros) and a very good supermarket about 5 minutes walk. But: the view from apartment No. 5 (= Frau Holle) is not nice at all, you only see the flat roof of the building and the facade of the part of the building opposite 😔

Located in Rottenbauer, about ten kilometers from Wurzburg, Grimm's is, as the name suggests, an old building/castle (schloss) completely renovated and comprising, if I counted correctly, 5 independent apartments. The residence is located in a sort of small neighborhood, surrounded by other buildings inhabited by locals. This is important to know, especially when parking your vehicle in one of the spaces reserved for Grimm's. Everything will be explained to you on site. The recent renovation of the building means that the whole is very clean and very functional. The apartments are located on the first floor of the castle, served by an elevator, very practical for carrying your suitcases. The apartments are of appreciable size, just as clean and well appointed as the building as a whole. The bathrooms are perfect, and the equipment in the room too (very practical kitchen). Three practical pieces of information that could be useful for future travelers: - to get to Wurzburg, it is obviously possible to use your car. But a tram stop (terminus of the line) is located very close to Grimm's (a few hundred meters) and allows you to reach the center. - during our stay, we did not see anyone (except the cleaning lady for 3 seconds). For what ? Because all exchanges are done by messaging, including the communication of access codes. All this to say that if you are not very comfortable with this type of IT tool, you will not necessarily find a lot of help on site. - the apartments do not offer a meal solution. For dinner, for example, you have to find something nearby, and the suggestions made by Grimm's take you to Wurzburg. Personally, we also chose to walk about ten kilometers to find a restaurant, but in another direction, and we found ourselves in a charming little wine village called Eibelstadt. Up to you.
