Zancudo Lodge

We have had the privilege to visit Zancudo Lodge a number of times over the years. Our expectations for an amazing stay are always high, and always far exceeded. The amazing personal service, outstanding fishing, and luxurious tropical lodge are givens. This year some new 5-star menu items were an added bonus (including a scrumptious seafood pasta). Lots of scarlet macaws and monkeys, the infamous crocodiles, and numerous other critters provided free entertainment during non-fishing times. Can’t wait for next year!

We had such an amazing time at Zancudo Lodge. The fishing was amazing, our guide was fantastic, the food and service were first class. We will definitely return and we would recommend anyone interested in fishing or seeing amazing sites to visit Zancudo. Greg and Goldine have an amazing resort/lodge and have hired top quality staff to fulfill their dream lodge. Just loved it.

Every facet of the Zancudo lodge was top notch. My father and I took a trip here and it was a once in a life time experience. The service was world class. The food was michelin star level. The fishing was even better than the service and food. Do not hesitate to book this trip, you will not be disappointed.

My wife and I have just returned from our second visit to the beautiful Zancudo Lodge and have already scheduled our third visit next year! This is a top notch fishing destination that has it all: friendly, attentive, owners and staff, a beautiful setting and accommodations, delicious meals, quality equipment, 32' Contenders as well as a tremendous 44' Contender, and experienced, professional fishing captains. The location is quiet, remote and intimate. A breathtaking experience! We can't wait to return!

Here is my annual review of the Zancudo Lodge to which my husband and I have traveled nearly every year since 2013 (stupid COVID). As usual, Gregg and Goldine found a way to make the experience even more spectacular, this year with brand new docks, a new Contender Z1 44 footer added to the fleet and wonderful additions to the already spectacular menu. From the kind and attentive staff, to the gorgeously landscaped gardens, to the black sand beach extending as far as the eye can see right outside the door, Zancudo never fails to impress. Add the fishing! Inshore for everything from rooster fish to trophy cubera snappers and offshore for topwater tuna, billfish and dorado, the action can be non-stop leaving you pleasantly exhausted by the end of the day. To a man, the captains of the 32 Contenders are friendly, knowledgeable extremely talented. You are free to do as little or as much of the catching as you would like and they are patient teachers if this is your first offshore adventure. We are already booked for next year. Normally I don’t write reviews of my trips, but for the Zancudo Lodge I will make an exception. My father, brother and me visited the Zancudo Lodge in February 2024 for 5 days of fishing. It was our first time big game fishing and we didn’t really know what to expect. We have to say that our stay at the lodge far exceeded our expectations. Our captain knew precisely where to fish and he showed us the proper technique. Due to his effort and knowledge we caught a bunch of fish both off-shore and in-shore. Besides the amazing fishing experience, the service at the lodge is truly outstanding. The staff is very friendly, attentive and helpful. They also show that they have thought about every detail. The food is delicious, the rooms are very comfortable and the bar is a great place to relax and talk about everyone’s day on the water. I could go on and on about all things that are great at this lodge, but the whole experience was just outstanding. I would recommend everyone, first timers and experienced anglers (I met a lot of people at the lodge that have been coming there for more than 10 years), to visit this lodge if you want to have an out of this world fishing experience with amazing service. My father, brother and me will definitely return if our agenda’s allow us! To everyone that works at the lodge: Thanks again for the best fishing experience we ever had. Best sports fishing I’ve ever experienced and the captains know their stuff. The lodge offers fantastic service and the food is top notch. Greg & Goldeen are the most friendly owners and will treat you with the utmost respect. The whole operation is worth every dollar!

What a special place in so many ways. This was our fourth family vacation trip to Zancudo Lodge in 7 years and it just keeps getting better every visit. We come for the outstanding fishing but it is the entire experience that makes this place one of a kind vacation. From the beginning when we plan the trip to our departure, everything is perfectly arranged. The lodge staff feels like family here. The meals are what you would expect in a five star restaurant. You will not find another place that pays so much attention to details to make everyone's stay special. Thanks to all of you at Zancudo Lodge for creating such wonderful memories for myself and my family for all these years.

My wife and I returned to The Zancudo Lodge for the 2nd time in the past 3 years (would have been 3 times in 3 years if our schedule in 2022 permitted). The accommodations, food, and service are a 10 out of 10. The attention to detail is absolutely remarkable and the entire staff couldn't be more friendly. On this trip we fished 3 days, did a waterfall hike, went horseback riding, and spent one day relaxing at the lodge. I'm an avid fisherman and the fishing here is definitely some of the best in the world. All the boat captains are great, regardless of your skill level. We plan to return in 2024!
