Room was nice, cozy common room. Tours around Zhangye were nice and provided by the Hostel for little price. Besides, we wanted to book for the desert and the lady helped us a lot to organize, get the contacts and she also kept our luggages while we were away.

We had a great stay here. It is clean and comfortable, and conveniently located in the centre of the city, with all major attractions within a 15 minute walk (Mingqing street; drum tower; Big Buddha temple; wooden pagoda and the connected square [lots of people dancing in the mornings and evenings—a must see!]). The receptionist was very helpful and friendly too. The hostel also organised affordable transport for us to and from Danxia rainbow sand dunes (50¥/person) and Mati temple (70¥/person); note that this is 1/3 of the price charged by private drivers or tour agencies! A good place to base yourself to explore Zhangye and nearby sites.

The woman who owns it is so friendly and helpful, and organized a whole day trip for me which was amazing. She also let me have the room until late before my train. Would definitely recommend, especially for the value.

Around the hostel, there are ancient streets of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, supermarkets, museums, libraries, drum towers, and Buddhist temples, which can be reached directly on foot.
