The Little Mermaid in Copenhagen

#wecreate I think every child can identify with The Little Mermaid as it is a famous Disney character and a famous fairy tale by H.C. Anderson. Your trip to Copenhagen would not be complete if you didn't stop by the Little Mermaid statue. This little mermaid statue is by Edvard Eriksen and it is not a massive statue, if you're thinking it would be gigantic. In fact, I was a little disappointed when I visited the statue as I felt it was small. However, it is still a pretty statue and the view around the Mermaid is so scenic, you will love it. The sights of the calm waters as small boats are passing by or parked at the pier. Before the walk up to the Mermaid statue, you will also see a grand fountain, which is equally beautiful. I suggest taking a walk at the area and make full use of your day there, take in the lovely sights and sounds.

The Little Mermaid

Came to Copenhagen to explore and catch the ferry to Oslo ! I wanted a cheaper place to stay than the centre of Copenhagen so I stayed at the hotel cabinn metro on the outskirts of the city, I had a great time the hotel was affordable and the staff friendly ,nice clean room too! The hotel was situated yards from an amazing shopping mall with numerous bars , restaurants and shops and also a train and subway station with regular trains into Copenhagen itself which took 10 minutes. I had a few touristy things I wanted to do while visiting and was only here a few days… I walked along the waterside and seen the little mermaid a bronze statue by Edvard Eriksen depicting a mermaid becoming human , it was busy with tourists in the day so I would recommend going earlier to avoid the crowds ! Another place I would recommend visiting was the national museum of Denmark it’s prob one of the best museums I’ve been too , especially the exhibit named the RAID ! where you join the vikings on an adventurous journey with denmarks largest collection of treasures from the Viking age , it was awesome ! Lastly I wanted a view of Copenhagen so I scaled the rundetaarn a 17th century round tower with great views over the city ! costs about £3 can get very busy again even out of season but definitely worth a look …..
