Part of Your World

I am a big Disney fan. I grew up to Disney stories and film, and the Little Mermaid is one of the characters I really enjoy growing up. Odd choice, I know. It is also for the same reason that Copenhagen has always been in my bucket list. So when I finally got the chance, I didn't pass on the opportunity. I packed my bags and traveled almost 18 hours for an adventure and be part of 'that' world. The weather seem to have cooperated. It was a rather breezy day perfect for a walk and I got the chance to see other interesting things on my way to see the Little Mermaid. The statue is just off the promenade known as Langelinie. Walking from the city centre is a great option, especially if you luck out with good weather. From the cobbled streets of the lively Nyhavn area, it’s a 20-minute walk along the harbour to The Little Mermaid, near the fortress of Kastellet (The Citadel), just across the water from Refshaleøen. Finally, I reached the harbor and got to live my own Disney fantasy. #2023travelwish

The Little Mermaid

Came to Copenhagen to explore and catch the ferry to Oslo ! I wanted a cheaper place to stay than the centre of Copenhagen so I stayed at the hotel cabinn metro on the outskirts of the city, I had a great time the hotel was affordable and the staff friendly ,nice clean room too! The hotel was situated yards from an amazing shopping mall with numerous bars , restaurants and shops and also a train and subway station with regular trains into Copenhagen itself which took 10 minutes. I had a few touristy things I wanted to do while visiting and was only here a few days… I walked along the waterside and seen the little mermaid a bronze statue by Edvard Eriksen depicting a mermaid becoming human , it was busy with tourists in the day so I would recommend going earlier to avoid the crowds ! Another place I would recommend visiting was the national museum of Denmark it’s prob one of the best museums I’ve been too , especially the exhibit named the RAID ! where you join the vikings on an adventurous journey with denmarks largest collection of treasures from the Viking age , it was awesome ! Lastly I wanted a view of Copenhagen so I scaled the rundetaarn a 17th century round tower with great views over the city ! costs about £3 can get very busy again even out of season but definitely worth a look …..
