Touring the ancient city of Datong, I reminisce about the style of Liang Sicheng

After visiting a city, I always make sure to visit the local museum. The only museum in China dedicated to Liang Sicheng is located at the East Gate of Datong's city wall. Liang Sicheng and his wife Lin Huiyin traveled throughout Shanxi, investigating and studying the local ancient architecture, which provided a very important direction for architectural design for future generations. Liang Sicheng made a comprehensive plan for the layout of Beijing after the liberation, but unfortunately, it was not adopted. Fortunately, the restoration of the ancient city of Datong drew inspiration from his design concepts, allowing it to shine with a new look.
