Another beauty in Burgundy

#myhiddengems During my travels in the Burgundy region, Dijon was yet another beautiful place I ended up in without any prior plans. I was then trying to get to newer places and avoid the crowds. Dijon did turn out to be pleasant. It's the type of place that offers something for everyone. What is absolutely noticeable when you spend your time here is that it has a rich history of art with the likes of Palais des Ducs de Bourgogne and Dijon’s Notre Dame Cathedral. Another interesting thing i realised when socialising with people. A lot of tourists here were also doing the nearby countryside when visiting Dijon. Belvédère de Talant, which is under an hour of walking is a great example of that. Along with Beaune, Besançon, and Semur-en-Auxois in driving distances. A thing i loved about Dijon, was the number of parks and open spaces. This gave the city a more laid back vibe. A personal favourite is the garden called Jardin Darcy. I also explored the outdoors when visiting lake kir and of course there are the Arquebuse botanical gardens with walking paths and lovely gardens. As for the food scene, an important aspect of my stays in foreign lands. Let me tell you the food in Dijon is delightful. With over two dozen Michelin rated restaurants, there is no dearth of places to pick. Should you want to treat yourself to something special. And the traditional offerings like coq au vin or more modern cuisine like tartare de boeuf shouldn't be missed.
