The gentle breeze and rippling water captured the poetic essence of Jiangnan. The room was well-equipped with comfortable bedding, and the afternoon sunlight streaming in created a cozy atmosphere. As night fell and the lights came on, I took a 10-minute taxi ride from the hotel to the ancient town. I couldn't wait to explore this enchanting water town. Strolling along the cobblestone paths, I passed brightly lit shops filled with local snacks and handicrafts. Crossing the ancient stone bridges, I watched as gondola boats glided beneath, their oars creating ripples in the water. The laughter of the tourists on board seemed to transport me back in time. The night view of the ancient town is characterized by its tranquility, a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of other popular ancient towns. Wandering through the alleys, I made sure to visit Baijian Lou, Baijian Lou, a row of houses built along the water, with white walls and black tiles reflected in the water. It was truly a sight to behold. I stumbled upon small tea houses by the river and settled down in a corner with a pot of tea, enjoying the gentle breeze and letting go of all my worries. This March weekend trip to Nanxun was made especially memorable by the newly opened Four Points by Sheraton and the captivating night view of the ancient town.
