#myhiddengems Just spent a wonderful weekend in Afitos (also spelled Athitos), Kassandra, and I’m still buzzing from how incredible it was! 🌅 This charming village in Halkidiki is the perfect blend of old-world charm and stunning natural beauty. The best part? It’s free to stroll through the cobblestone streets lined with traditional stone houses, cozy cafes, and shops selling local crafts. Every corner felt like a postcard! 📸 We started our days with a dip in the crystal-clear waters at Afitos Beach—no entrance fee, just pure relaxation under the Greek sun. 🌊 The views from the cliffside above the beach were absolutely breathtaking. We also visited the Church of St. Demetrius, a beautiful 19th-century church in the village center. Just a short drive away is the lively town of Kalithea, which offers more shopping and a buzzing nightlife if you're in the mood for something more energetic. For dinner, we tried a seaside taverna, and the fresh seafood, especially the grilled octopus, was out of this world! 🐙 Don’t miss the local wine either—it’s delicious. If you’re into history, the Folklore Museum in Afitos offers a glimpse into the region’s past. Afitos is the perfect getaway if you're looking for a mix of culture, relaxation, and great food.
