A gem of a museum

#fallishere Pre-Columbian Gold Museum was on a recommended list for thing to do in San José and it did not disappoint. The museum is now in an underground building rather than the older building just next door. They provide lockers for backpacks and larger bags. A small purse and phone are okay. Start by going ask the way to the bottom floor and work your way up. Over the 3 floors you can find amazing collection of gold artefacts from the various native people. Displays also include narratives about cultures and beliefs and the mythology behind many of the charms and amulets. Other displays within the museum also include the history of Costa Rican currency with separate sections dealing with bank notes and coins. Definitely worth a visit
