Shanghai Library (East Branch) Shanghai Library / 'Around the World in 80 Days' exhibition. The inspiration comes from the eponymous science fiction novel 'Around the World in Eighty Days' by French writer Jules Verne, which celebrates its 150th anniversary of publication (the book was first published in 1873). The exhibition uses narrative techniques and immersive presentation methods, following the footsteps of the protagonist Fogg to travel the world again: from London, UK to Paris, France, Turin, Italy, Suez, Egypt, Mumbai and Calcutta, India, Malacca, Singapore, Shanghai, China, Yokohama, Japan, San Francisco, Midwest and New York, USA, and finally back to Liverpool and London, UK, passing through 9 countries and 24 themed exhibition halls.
