You must visit the 'Imperial Prime Minister's Residence' in Shanxi

Known as the 'First Cultural Giant Residence in Northern China,' it is the former residence of Chen Tingjing, a famous prime minister of the Qing Dynasty and teacher of Emperor Kangxi. The architectural style of the Imperial Prime Minister's Residence is unique, with inner and outer city walls totaling over 780 meters in length, an average height of about 12 meters, and a width between 2.5 to 3 meters. The inner city was built during the Ming Dynasty, while the outer city was constructed in the Qing Dynasty. The entire architectural complex is built along the mountain, with a well-arranged layout, integrating various functions such as official residences, literati's former residences, and defensive structures. Its internal structure includes the Imperial Book Building, Zhongdao Village, Douzhu Residence, Heshan Building, and Soldier Hiding Caves, each with its unique function and historical background.
