GGuest UserIt was just an absolutely amazing experience from the very beginning and until the very end of our stay, not even just in the hotel, but in the city of Pingyao itself in general. Me and my friend are traveling very light and without guides, and in Pingyao we had only one day: from evening to evening of the next day. Huge huge thanks to everyone who made this day unforgettable and ultimately comfortable for tired us: Alice, Helen, Fenny, Hana, and all others who was there for us.
The hotel service is simply excellent: as soon as they learned about our late arrival, they immediately offered to meet us at the railway station, which was absolutely the sweetest thing. They brought us to the city gate, met us there, and walked us to the hotel. There they gave us a map, on which they explained in great detail where everything is, what is worth paying attention to, how it is better to build the route, and what opening hours different sights have. They also helped us organize a private transfer to Shaolin Temple the next morning. It was just perfect: we got there in 15 minutes instead of one and a half hours by foot, and after our walk in the temple they met us and brought us back. Also on the evening of arrival they helped us immediately buy the ticket for visiting all attractions of the city, valid for three days. And also they advised us where to eat, and gave us a hotel discount in both places. We did not regret it even once, the food was amazingly delicious in both places!
The hotel itself is just wonderful: it really looks exactly like in the photos. You want to photograph every corner and record how the sparrows are chirping on the roof, and how two wonderful cats are meowing. The room also matches and even exceeds expectations. A huge kang bed, very comfortable. Excellent shower with everything needed. Breakfast is included in the stay: the traditional Chinese one was very tasty! Unfortunately, we did not manage to eat the egg, it was freshly boiled and still hot, but we were hurrying to Shaolin Temple by opening time. Also the hotel has a laundry service, and special thanks for that too! Washing and drying were very fast, and we got our nicely smelling clothes back already after four hours, which was critical for us, because we were leaving the same day.
We felt like we really were honored guests, and we really appreciated it, even if only for one day.

GGuest UserVery good experience. The owners are friendly and provide pick up at the gate entrance. Pretty courtyard and the owners shared a lot of information on where to eat / shop at. Would definitely recommend this guesthouse to those wanting to visit Pingyao.

What really made our stay unforgettable, though, was the host. Their outstanding kindness, hospitality, and constant availability went above and beyond. I am incredibly satisfied with my stay and cannot recommend this place enough. A true 10/10

CChenchenyangyangdedangaoayiI visited Pingyao with my 89-year-old mother, and Pusha is located on Chenghuangmiao Street, which is absolutely a prime location for accommodation within Pingyao Ancient City. It's not far from the main attractions, and just a short walk to Nanda Street, where many good restaurants are clustered. Choosing Pusha for a trip to the ancient city is definitely the right choice.
The owner was very responsible and contacted us via WeChat two days in advance to ask about our arrival time. He gave detailed instructions on where to take a taxi, and the staff even picked up and dropped off our luggage from the New East Gate, making our arrival and departure hassle-free.
The courtyard has typical Shanxi residential features. We chose a twin room, which was quite spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. My mother went back to the hotel early to rest and wanted to watch TV but couldn't figure out how to operate it. The owner, a young man, was incredibly patient. He spent over half an hour helping her and even left his own phone for her to cast TV shows. The service was truly excellent!👍

GGuest UserI was very fortunate to choose Glory Homestay for my trip to Pingyao. Although it's outside the ancient city, it's incredibly convenient for getting around, just a 5-6 minute walk to the entrance, avoiding the hassle of traffic control within the ancient city. The room was clean and cozy, the bedding was so soft I fell asleep the moment my head hit the pillow. The owner is a 20-year veteran who was incredibly welcoming. He not only helped plan the route but also recommended many local favorites. The prices were very reasonable, only a few dozen yuan – truly excellent value for money. I highly recommend everyone stay here!

The hotel was very unique and beautiful with so much history. The staff also scheduled complementary pickup and drop off to the train station which was very convenient for our arrival and departure.

GGuest UserThe boss is very good, stayed for about 20 days. The first time I lived in the room downstairs, I changed to the room upstairs when I lived. Especially warm, the boss is very good. My brother's feet were broken, but when I returned to Beijing, I was broken. Thanks to the boss's reminder, I must go to the hospital to check it. During the stay, the temples in the core scenic area of Wutai Mountain were almost all worshipped. When returning to the room, the boss will make up the water. It is very convenient to go to the core scenic area from the homestay. If there are Tibetans staying, it will be particularly lively.

GGuest UserI can’t stop raving about this inn. It is a B&B style three stories tall inn located inside the Datong Ancient City. Complimentary shuttle service between the airport or railway station made it really convenient for out of town travelers. The guest room was clean and equipped with modern facilities like automatic toilets, coded entry, projection screens, etc. The inn is located near the north gate of the city amongst other accommodations. Within minutes of walking is access to the top of the city wall where bike rental is available to ride along the wall. The inn is very quiet at night. The inn is family operated and everyone was very hospitable. What sets this inn apart from other accommodations in the area is their dedication to service. The owner knew I was a tourist and new to the area, she offered to pick me up if I got lost wandering the ancient city. The breakfast came with my reservation. When the owner found out I had to depart before breakfast serving hours, she went above and beyond to prepare food and served me 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The food tasted amazing and came with abundant varieties and huge portions. It was definitely not part of the service to drop off at another venue, but the owner took me to my next accommodation 2km away. I truly appreciate everything this inn and its staff has done for me. I am so glad to have chosen to stay this beautiful little inn on my first night in Datong. I will definitely stay here again without a doubt on my next visit.

MMr & Mrs ChongMy husband and I, in our 70s had a wonderful 2-nights stay 19-21 April 2026 at Pingyao Taotang Yaju - Yinqichi Hotel. The property offers modern comfort in a traditional courtyard inn! It's within walking distance to major attractions. The comfortable room gave me the experience of a lady living in ancient times! 🥰
The hosts were warm and respectful. Mr Guo picked us up from the Pingyao Ancient City Railway Station and as our return train was booked to depart at 5pm, he sent us to the Ancient Shuanglin Temple, advising us to order a Didi car to the Railway Station after our visit. Appreciated his suggestion.
The lady host, Ms Li is knowledgeable and an excellent cook She provided us a walking map of the Ancient City and highlighted the Must-See attractions.. Breakfast was comforting in the cold mornings. We had a delicious dinner at their restaurant, just a few steps from Cheng Huang Temple. Hotel guests get a discount!

Wwillagfield8888Hands down our favorite hotel experience in all of China - beautiful property and fantastic customer service.
The hotel is beautiful with two picturesque traditional courtyards, while the rooms are modern, well equipped and sparkling clean. The hotel is in a great location and only a very short walk away from all the main attractions. Because the hotel doesn't directly face a big street, it's also very quiet all day and night which is a big plus!
Our favorite was the incredible customer service, once again the best we've experienced in China. The staff was extremely helpful in picking us up and dropping us off at the train station. Throughout our stay, everyone was extremely kind, patient, and helpful in providing us with information and making our stay ever more comfortable. Also super responsive to our Wechat messages.
An added bonus is that the hotel provided us with a free upgrade to a bigger room type, as well as a free breakfast. We ended up staying one night longer than planned because we liked this hotel and Pingyao so much! We will come back here on our next visit to Pingyao.
