The scenery is good, there are few people and the air is good. Like the Alishan scenic area, there are towering trees.

Xiding Xiangshan is near Alishan. It is very convenient to drive up. The mountain road is not too steep and there are signboards on the roadside. There are wooden plank roads and viewing platforms here. You can see tea gardens and bamboo forests along the way. The air is full of the fresh smell of grass and trees. When the weather is good, you can see the mountains and sea of ​​clouds in the distance from the top of the mountain. In the early morning, the fog is heavy and the clouds flow in the mountains, like an ink painting. If you come in the evening, the sunset dyes the clouds orange, which is very good for taking pictures.

I visited many years ago at a very famous Mazu temple in Taiwan, where many people come to pray for peace and safety. The architecture is worth seeing; the carved dragons and deities are incredibly lifelike, showcasing the remarkable skill of the old craftsmen. If you visit during festivals like Mazu's birthday, it becomes even more lively, with parades and performances, packed with people, creating a truly atmospheric experience. I was lucky enough to arrive during one of the events the following day, which was really great.

There is not much open to the public in Alishan. After entering the forest park, you have to take a small train to Zhuoping Station. It takes less than an hour to walk around. Then take a small train back from Shenmu Station, otherwise you have to go back the same way. The journey takes a few minutes and the price is 100 Taiwan dollars per trip. The scenic spot is that the big trees are artificially made into the shape of some artworks. It is still less interesting than in China. I just go there when I come.

In the early morning, the Alishan train slowly started, shuttling through the misty forest. The wooden seats in the carriage exuded a faint pine scent, and outside the window was a continuous green bamboo forest and towering ancient trees. The train slowly climbed along the winding track, occasionally passing through a tunnel, and the view suddenly opened up, with the sea of ​​clouds rolling underfoot, as if in a fairyland. The collision of the wheels and the rails was crisp and pleasant, accompanied by the birdsong in the mountains, like a symphony of nature. In front of the terminal, the sun filled the carriage, warm and quiet. This journey seemed to prolong time, making people indulge in the tranquility and beauty of the mountains.

The Shenmu Scenic Area in Alishan is mainly for viewing red cypress trees, some of which are thousand-year-old giants. It takes several people to hug the trunk together, which shows how huge the trees are. It is forbidden to cut down these trees. In the past, the Japanese collected wood here and transported it back to Japan to build royal buildings and shrines. In order to get closer to the sacred tree, a plank road was built for tourists to visit and take pictures.

Smooth access, friendly staff, great adventure despite the long lines for getting in and out. We were lucky enough to enjoy sunset and the night views of Taipei. The egg cake is so delicious.
