Reviews: Sailing Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor for 3 Nights

We took a three-night Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor. Overall, we enjoyed the trip: beautiful views, interesting temples, and good organization.
The Zeina is a decent boat: not new, but acceptable. The food is good, and the staff is polite. There's a pool on the upper deck and a beautiful view of the Nile while sailing. In terms of cleanliness, it's worth giving a discount to Egypt: the standard is below average, but overall acceptable.
We enjoyed the excursions. We had comfortable transfers, a good guide, Mido, in Aswan, and a decent guide, Ahmed, in Luxor. The temples are very beautiful and interesting.
What's important to keep in mind: there are early morning wake-ups between 3 and 5 AM almost every day. Entrance fees are not included, and drinks on the boat are extra. You'll also need to budget for tips/baksheesh: drivers, guides, and cruise staff will receive these, plus an envelope for the crew upon check-out.
On the downside, the hot air balloon ride in Luxor was canceled due to weather. This wasn't the organizers' fault, but we were counting on it.
Overall, I enjoyed the cruise. Just be prepared for early wake-ups and extra charges.★

Our trip was absolutely wonderful! We left early in the morning from Aswan to Abu Simbel, and when we arrived at the meeting point, the guide and driver were already waiting for us. The minibus was comfortable and new 🚐. Upon boarding, we were given a welcome pack with water and snacks for the road 🥐
The drive to Abu Simbel took just over three hours, including a stop in the desert and an incredible sunrise 🌄. Along the way, our guide, George, shared many interesting facts about the temples. We arrived earlier than the other groups, so there weren't many people yet, so we were able to explore all the temples, take photos, and explore the grounds. We had plenty of time to stop in the souvenir shop if we wanted.
The drive back was also quick and easy.

We booked the 4‑day/3‑night Nile River cruise through Trip.com, and our local agent was Fayrouz Egypt Travel Company, with Ahmed as our tour operator. He was excellent—communication was smooth, responses were always prompt, and he checked in with us at the end of each day to make sure everything was going well. We truly appreciated that level of care.
The tour price included the river cruise as well as guided visits to all the “must‑see” cultural and historical sites in Aswan, Kom Ombo, Edfu, and Luxor. We were especially delighted that the tour also included Abu Simbel Temples and a hot‑air balloon ride in Luxor.
All pick‑ups and drop‑offs were smooth and clearly communicated.
The local guides were very good—especially Ahmed Eltayeb in Luxor and Ahmed Awad in Aswan. Both were very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. Our drivers, Mohamed (Luxor) and Said (Aswan), drove carefully and smoothly, and we felt very safe with them throughout the trip.
