I went to the walking tour with friends. I didn't know Minami area had so many hidden gems. Specially, the different art exhibitions as I am very interested in Art. We got to speak to a few local people and visited the biggest bamboo factory in Oita! There were quite a few quirky shops for gifts. I also loved the cozy, aesthetic cafes. The tour guide was bilingual and very friendly. I would recommend it!

While I picked this tour for the hot springs, I really enjoyed my time at Nyoirinji temple. I got to write my wish and hang it as part of a wind chime. I also wish we had more time for Yufuin as there were so many shops to explore! What made the tour excellent though was our guide, Nicole Yang. This is my 2nd tour with her and I was so glad it was her again! She gives a lot of background info on the spots we visited and she also gives recommendations on what to do so you are able to maximize your time and get the most out of the experience. I’ve been on other tours and I can tell you, she really is more than a timekeeper and direction-setter. She’s great at piquing your interest about the places with her stories and tips.

I highly recommend everyone try this JR Pass, as it is extremely convenient and worth it, especially for solo travellers. It can help you save a lot on transportation costs. However, make sure to check your itinerary carefully, as this JR Pass does not cover every attraction or area, and some places may require local trains instead.

Thank you to our tour guide, Hedy! The day's itinerary went very smoothly. Hedy was very sincere, explaining things that might happen beforehand and providing detailed introductions and timely assistance. Although we didn't get to ride the jungle bus at Kyushu Zoo, the tour bus itself was great for recording videos and taking photos! This tour is perfect for travelers with limited days who want to see as much as possible!
