Badaguan

Badaguan is a coastal neighborhood in the southern part of Qingdao, nestled between the southern foothills of Taiping Mountain, Huiquan Cape, and Taiping Cape. It earned its name from eight streets named after ancient passes, with roads like Shaoguan Road, Zhengyangguan Road, and Shanhaiguan Road now forming a crisscrossing network. The area is shaded by lush trees, dotted with deep courtyards, and offers a tranquil atmosphere with few pedestrians. This neighborhood boasts hundreds of old villas built in the 1920s and 1930s, showcasing a blend of architectural styles from Russia, Britain, Germany, Denmark, Japan, and more, earning it the nickname "International Architecture Expo." Among them, the seaside Huashi Building is a European castle-style structure built with multicolored stones and is one of the few villas open to the public, allowing visitors to explore inside and enjoy sea views from its rooftop platform. On Juyongguan Road, the Princess Building is a Danish-style villa with green walls and red tiles, named after a Danish princess and known for its photogenic charm. The Marshal Building on Shanhaiguan Road is a Japanese-style villa where several founding marshals once stayed. Note that most villas here are not open to the public, so visitors can only admire their exteriors. A unique feature of Badaguan is its "one tree per road" theme: Shaoguan Road is lined with flowering peach trees that bloom brilliantly in spring; Ningwuguan Road is adorned with crabapple flowers in late spring and early summer; Zhengyangguan Road is filled with crape myrtles throughout summer and autumn; Jiayuguan Road is flanked by maple trees turning red and yellow in late autumn; Juyongguan Road is carpeted with golden ginkgo leaves; Zijingguan Road features evergreen cedars; while Shanhaiguan Road and Linhuaiguan Road are lined with plane trees and junipers, respectively. Each season transforms the neighborhood into a different landscape. Walking south to the end of these roads leads to the seaside, adjacent to the Second Bathing Beach, where fine sand contrasts with red-tiled villas, embodying Qingdao's classic "red tiles, green trees, blue sea, and azure sky" scenery. This area is a popular spot for wedding photos and a quintessential place for strolls and photography in Qingdao.Qingdao · 36.9km from Jiaozhou

Taidong Pedestrian Street is located in Shibei District, Qingdao, and is a commercial street with a history of over a hundred years. It was once a distribution center for early Chinese trade in Qingdao, and today it remains a go-to spot for locals to shop and eat. It is bustling with people during the day, and brightly lit and lively at night. The walls of the buildings lining both sides of the street are covered with large-scale hand-painted murals. Themes such as folk patterns, marine elements, and opera masks are spread along the way, making it look like a colorful gallery from a distance. You can see them as you walk around during the day, and they also serve as popular backdrops for tourist photos. It is even more worth setting aside time for after dark. The "Zi'er Street" on Changxing Road and the Hexing Road snack street are packed with people shopping and eating. Neon signs paired with shop signs create a vibrant, lively atmosphere. Shaohai National Wetland Park is located in Jiaozhou, Qingdao. It's quite large, and you can see the lake right after entering from the main gate; it's very open. There are large reed beds along the lake, and black swans and ducks can be seen on the water. You can take a swan boat ride for 20 yuan. On a nice day, it's a good place to stroll along the lakeside boardwalk; the path is flat and suitable for strolling with a stroller or for elderly people. The area around Ciyun Temple is less crowded, and you can see the Jiaozhou Bridge in the distance, offering a great view. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful, perfect for relaxing and taking photos.

The Zhanqiao Pier in Qingdao is a must-see! The century-old stone path stretches into the azure sea, and the glazed tiles of the Huilan Pavilion gleam brightly in the sunlight. In winter, flocks of seagulls circle and forage, and the salty sea breeze is incredibly soothing. Climbing to the top offers panoramic views of red-tiled roofs, green trees, and the azure sea and sky; every snapshot is a masterpiece, no filter needed. All the romance of Qingdao is here!

The boat departs at 9:30 AM. If you arrive early, you can take photos with the Olympic torch. The boat has three decks, and it looks beautiful when the sun shines on the shimmering water. However, it doesn't go very far, there are no seagulls, and it's a bit shaky. Overall, the experience is just average.

Qingdao Satisfies All Your Sea-Viewing Desires As the sea closest to the Central Plains culture, the Yellow Sea would have been the first choice for emperors like Qin Shi Huang, Emperor Wu of Han, and Emperor Taizu of Song to view the sea, with places like Langya, Jimo, and Qingdao being prime examples. After all, besides the vast ocean and the majestic Laoshan Mountain, it's also an important salt-producing area. When you truly hear the roar of the waves crashing against the rocks, when you see the boundless coastline, you'll believe you've truly seen the sea. If you can also swim in the sea, leisurely go beachcombing, listen to the sea, feel the sea breeze, visit islands, eat seafood, walk through underwater tunnels, take ocean-going cruises, and visit aquariums, then all your desires for the sea have been fulfilled, and you'll have no regrets in this life. Moreover, there are colonial-era seaside villas, Olympic sailing ships, and the National Naval Museum of China. Qingdao, a city with a very well-developed and mature tourism industry; Qingdao, a city that satisfies all your sea-viewing desires; Qingdao, the place where your journey to the sea begins. The most memorable place in Qingdao is the only one of its kind in the country. It boasts a dazzling array of naval, land, and air weaponry that can't be seen anywhere else. The most impressive part was the tour inside a nuclear submarine. Squeezing through the narrow hatch, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of pride for the soldiers. It filled me with a strong sense of national pride.
