Heping Island Park
Originally named Sheliao Island, this isle in Zhongzheng District lies northeast of Keelung Harbor. Really enjoyed exploring the place. The rock formations are so unique and thankfully we got there when the line wasn’t too long. We waited for a bit like 15-20 minutes under the heat but it was a bit overcast so it wasn’t too bright, although it was still very humid and hot. Hope they had big fans blowing there lol 😂

Jiufen, a mountain town, is a settlement in Ruifang District, New Taipei City, Taiwan, facing Keelung Mountain. The entire town sits on a hillside, creating a unique landscape of slopes and terraced buildings. It prospered in its early days due to gold mining, but declined after the mines were exhausted. The filming of the 1990s film *A City of Sadness* brought Jiufen's unique old-style architecture, hillside location, and charm to the attention of both domestic and international audiences, revitalizing the area and turning it into a tourist destination. A must must must go especially for the first timers to Taiwan! Quite fun from the top with many shops and cafes but a bit on the price side I must say! Also the lift journey to the top is very fast so that’s an experience itself

There wasn't much to see; the main activity was the cable car ride, which took 20 minutes one way. There are stops along the way where you can get off; those interested in the Zhinan Palace can stop there. The mountaintop itself wasn't particularly impressive either, just a few tea houses.

It's always a good place to know the history of Chiang. The old house is kept and remained perfectly fine. The aunties and uncles inside are very hospitality to help me introduce The history of the house. Some spots are not allowed to photos while some can take 📸

We went to Taiwan during the New Year...We took the cable car to and from Maokong Station to visit tourist attractions. It was the cherry blossom season. The cherry blossoms were super beautiful and it was a great place for family travel. We will go there again next time we have the chance. The air quality is fresh and the scenery is beautiful. We have been to Taiwan many times and still can't get enough... Looking forward to the next trip
