Just returned from a fantastic week here. The room we had was on the opposite side to pool and reception, which was lovely and peaceful. Didn't spend time at the pool or eat here as we are beach lovers and walk a lot. Reception were friendly, very pleasant and helpful. The bungalow was superb, very clean and spacious. Lovely bathroom with great shower. Patio is huge and we left towels etc out at night with no problem at all. Other guests on our side were friendly, some return year after year. So many different restaurants nearby which we tried. Thai, Indian, Spanish and Mexican. All very good value in my opinion as we spend most of our holidays on Greek Islands. We didn't find it 'typical Brit' as earlier reviews stated. All in all, a lovely resort in lovely accommodation! Would I go back? Definitely be there next January!

We arrived 27/9, family of 4 adult ladies. We had booked a 2 bedroom apartment and were delighted to be shown to a newly refurbished 2 bed, 2 bathroom, 2 balcony apartment in J block. It was absolutely ideal for us, lots of space, everything clean and new. There was even a filtered water tap. Couldn’t fault it. The complex itself is lovely with lots of bars serving excellent food, drink and entertainment. Highlights are Sunday & Wednesday afternoon entertainment in the square and the excellent quiz nights in the sun inn. You’re also a short stroll to the beach and shops if venturing out. Pools are lovely, yes you have to book a bed the day before but it wasn’t a problem and often spare beds can be found at the bottom pool. The top pool tended to be busier as that’s where the entertainment team are based. The complex does have plenty of stairs but we knew that when booking and there are plenty of friendly staff to help you up and down with luggage etc. We were able to keep the room on for a couple of hours on our last day at a charge of €10 per hour. We also used the excellent, clean, newly refurbished courtesy shower room in reception before leaving the resort. It was fabulous. Overall 10/10 from us. We’ll see you next year sunset bay.
Hotel Ventus

I had two persons room in the northern corner of the building. The room is spacious with large bathroom and a corridor and built-in wardrobe. The hotel is nicely decorated and well maintained. The balcony was towards south-east, not very large with a table and two chairs. But as wind in El Medano is always strong and comes from the east it was not comfortable to use it, also WiFi doesn't work on the balcony and part of the room away from the corridor. There room has a fridge and electronic safety box, and TV. There are two electric sockets next to the beds, but unfortunately only one socket next to the table, which is already engaged by the fridge. The hotel staff speaks well English and is friendly. One can access the hotel either with electronic card or with PIN code of the main door and your room. The PINs are sent by email, so I suppose late arrival after 19.00, when reception closes, is possible. The hotel is located almost in the middle of El Medano, next to the only shopping center of the city featuring SuperDino and quite noisy bar. There is also smaller Supermercado Guai in 200 m. But take into accound El Medano is a very small town 1 km in diameter, so everything is in walking distance. El Medano beach is just in 300 m from the hotel. All beaches in El Medano and to the east of it are open for the wind. So they are mostly occupied by the surfers and kite-surfers. There is a small part of El Medano beach protected by the mole. 3 km to the west there is La Tejita beach, which is covered from the wind by the Montaña Roja, also offering great views over the area. There is buses 411 and 408 from El Medano going to San Isidro, where you can change to bus to the Southern Airport, other directions or do more substantial shopping in Mercadona, Lidl or HiperDino. San Isidro bus station has a machine for topping up Ten+ bus cards. In the evining people gather at Plaza del Medano, which is quite vibrant place taking into account the town is tiny comparing to Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas.

Reading the reviews made me so excited to visit and it didn’t disappoint. I like my home comforts and the accommodation was excellent, comfy, modern, peaceful and couldn’t have asked for more. It was nice to be able to go back to the accommodation knowing you could sit back and also relax without noise or noisy neighbours. The place itself is mainly also really peaceful, two main pools, they are quite cold but not so much you wouldn’t go in and was a nice relief on the warmer days. There was table tennis (sorry we lost a lot of balls on the roof!) and pool (1 euro per game which was good) and golf (golf not recommended as it’s on concrete and nearly impossible to play- but still had fun with a lovely sea view). I want to talk about the staff, I didn’t take names but they will know who they are. Reception staff all very polite and couldn’t do enough. Felt like they wanted us to be there and it started our holiday off perfect. Whenever we needed anything they were there. Baileys bar was amazing. Food and drinks lovely (yummy milkshakes) and the service was also exceptional and with a smile. I tipped a few times as they were all brilliant. One in particular we took a shine to as he was always so helpful, sorting F1 for us and then the Olympics. It really did feel like home. A good base for playa flamingo (15 min walk) lovely restaurant called El Argentino - best fresh pizza and also lovely pasta. All in all one of the best accommodation we have stopped at and as our kids are older the peace and quiet was also nice. Thanks for making our holidays special and we will definitely be back! 22B we stopped in with a lovely partial sea view to top it off! Perfect
Apartamentos Islamar Arrecife

Extremely welcoming staff and clean reception area, every member of staff took the time to greet us and smile! The decor is well considered and provides a luxury feel. We were offered a complimentary coffee whilst we waited for our room to be ready. The room has everything you need and we had a lovely view of the Arrecife coast. The beds were comfortable as were the other amenities with bonus points for a great bathroom and powerful shower! Towards the evening we spent time on the top floor in the hotels 'Solarium' which featured a hot tub and more glorious views of the Arrecife coast. We would not hesitate to book again as we found our stay to represent excellent value!

The animation team are amazing we couldn't fault them. However we would say it finishes at 10:30pm which is a little early. we found however they do it because of other guests as the stage is in the middle of the hotel rooms so it's understandable but still. Bar staff are great however in the evenings the drinks are pretty strong so bare that in mind. Pool is a little cold but we found the sea colder. The only downside we really have had with the hotel is: 1) the food is ok but no where near great and sadly in my opinion to be to bland and very little spice even on Mexican night. Dessert is repetitive. 2) Reported issues with things are not dealt with. For example we had a light that would constantly flash even when off and we was told to take the bulb out. Clearly a wiring issue somewhere. 3) security make you go to bed around 12 as it appears your not allowed to sit outside and talk quietly and your ushered to your room like a prisoner/naughty child.

The service was excellent, both in reception and restaurant, but the services in the facility were a bit unfavorable in the sense that personally, as I was with my pregnant wife, I had a room on the lowest floor the first day, everything was fine because there is an elevator, but The rest of the days they had them out of service, which in a place like that I think can't go wrong. The gym was a bit poor and the only machine that it had did not work well, the impossible parking on the second day was that I was able to get one and pay it to the hotel, when you go to make a reservation you will see a buffet breakfast option for €4 that does not exist lol. The rest all good. I think that services such as the elevator should be guaranteed to keep them in optimal conditions. For the rest all good.
Servatur Terrazamar Sun Suite

Location is great, we had 8th floor sunsuites. Booked superior with side sea view. Sea view was seen at one point if u stood right in the corner....not a great view really. Had a couple of issues when we arrived, bed had one leg loose and the bedside table had 3 legs...Maintenance guy came and fixed promptly so that was fine. Glad we checked and not waited till bedtime! We had issues with our door not locking and a new lock was required..but again fixed promptly, as was the TV which only had 2 channels! Bathroom very tired and they need new beds...u sleep on a mattress topper. Comfy enough bit doesn't look great. Lots of cracks and paint top ups on ceiling. Balcony massive and u get the sun from 9am till around 430pm. Kitchen equipment good...in my opinion the balcony and location is the selling point. Pool area very nice and we liked going up there. Lift goes to 6 then u go up steps to ur room or walk to back of complex and get another lift up. Air con in bedroom was good but no instructions or remote to use it. When I asked at reception how we switched it off he said use the fuse box!!! We realised there was a switch beside the light that did something..press it...eventually went off or on. Would I stay here again? Yes but would have lowered my expectation and know what I was getting. Don't get me wrong, Clean and good location but the bathroom and shower and the beds let it down. U dont spend much time in the room but you need a good bed and a good shower. Hubby spoke to reception about poor water pressure, again maintenance guy came to loom but there wasn't any improvement. Was OK for me though, hubby likes a powerful shower. I would say the other side has better views but this side has the sun in the morning and that is what we wanted for this time of year (normally come march and have stayed at other side casalanca/cala nova side). The sun shone everday so that made the balcony/pool the place to be!!

Just off the tourist streets so quieter but not far to walk to be in the hub Toilet clean Room clean Someone walking up and down to toilet regularly from about 1am then washed pans for about 15mins at 2am. Also up again running water for what seemed like ages at 4am I didn’t have earplugs so got no sleep . Appalling behaviour . Light from hall / toilet brightens room and curtain not big enough to cover window .
