Overall, my impression of this hotel is that it's a slightly upscale budget hotel. The service is four-star, and they offer shuttle service to and from the station. At around 400 yuan a night, it's considered high-end in Linfen. **Pros:** The service is excellent and highly commendable. The station shuttle service is very thoughtful, and the car was comfortable. The complimentary welcome fruit was a nice, warm touch. The separate toilet, sink, and shower area is a great feature. **Areas for Improvement:** The air conditioning was quite noisy. The 'river view' room didn't really offer much of a river view, though I could see a bridge. The breakfast quality should be improved to match the four-star service. For instance, the freshly squeezed soy milk was too thick, indicating too few soybeans were used, and the quality of the pastries needs to be better.

“Ji Xia Shan” (literally, “Below the Mountain”) is tucked away in a quiet corner of Datong's ancient city. Push open the courtyard gate, and the hustle and bustle instantly fade away. Green bricks, wooden structures, plain walls – colors are minimized, and tranquility is maximized. As night falls, another layer of light illuminates the courtyard. A fire-dancing artist moves with a 'fire pot,' a flick of their arms sending golden streams of fire streaking through the silent night. Sparks scatter between the eaves and the green bricks, flickering on and off like the unextinguished heartbeat of the sleeping ancient city. Silence and passion arrive simultaneously in this single courtyard. The room's window is understated. It doesn't rush to display a panoramic view; instead, it draws your eye to the layered rooftops, resembling distant mountains. And at this moment, through the window, the fire's reflection dances on the tea ceremony table. Ji Xia Shan doesn't create scenery. It simply filters out the noise for you, leaving behind the ancient city's true essence – and your true self. Checking in here is truly arriving.

This is by far the best value five-star hotel in Taiyuan. The management is well-organized, and the hygiene is consistently excellent, making you feel right at home. Both the facilities and services are well-maintained. The surrounding area offers a complete range of commercial amenities and convenient transportation, with a subway entrance right next to the hotel. Tianmei and Beimei New World shopping centers are just next door. Overall, it's great value for money. The only minor drawback is that it's an older hotel and could use a full renovation. Given that Shanxi is a strong tourist province, a refurbishment would certainly justify a price increase.

My partner and I visited Datong Ancient City, and choosing 'Boyuan' was the most delightful part of our entire trip!. The guesthouse is tucked away in the heart of the ancient city, making it incredibly convenient to explore Huayan Temple and the city walls. It offers a tranquil escape amidst the bustling streets; stepping into the courtyard instantly shields you from the urban noise. The overall design is a new-Chinese-style courtyard, with blue bricks, wooden windows, lanterns, and greenery creating an elegant and refined atmosphere. Every corner of the courtyard is a picturesque scene, perfect for traditional-style photos. Spending leisure time sipping tea and enjoying the cool breeze in the courtyard truly immerses you in the slow-paced life of an ancient capital. The room's cleanliness was impeccable, the bedding soft and comfortable, and the amenities complete and thoughtful. Given the dry northern climate, they even provided a humidifier. The soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful and restful night's sleep every evening. I must particularly commend the butler and staff; their service was warm, attentive, and discreet. From check-in guidance and recommendations for local sightseeing to promptly addressing any daily needs, their attention to detail was exceptional. The daily breakfast was authentic and delicious, a comforting start to the day, reflecting their meticulous care in every aspect. Staying at Boyuan was incredibly comfortable and relaxing, completely free of the usual constraints of being away from home. It felt like owning a private courtyard in the ancient city. I left with a heavy heart. I highly recommend Boyuan to couples and travelers visiting Datong, and I will definitely choose it again on my next visit to Datong!

The bedding was comfortable and the room design was reasonable, but the room had a noticeable smell of new renovations, and the facilities were generally unacceptable. Despite being advertised as a hotel built in 2025, the toilet sliding door was difficult to open, the bathroom sliding door did not close properly, the TV signal was poor and frequently froze and could not be projected, and the air conditioner made strange noises. It was simply impossible to associate this with the quality of a five-star hotel.

This hotel boasts an excellent location right on South Street, making it super convenient for getting around. They even offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the city gate, plus a free breakfast. I also tried their à la carte menu, and the food was delicious! What's really great is that they also offer travel photography, providing a one-stop shop for everything. If you're looking for a hassle-free and enjoyable trip, this place is definitely the right choice.

This kind of personalized, thoughtful service instantly eased the typical frustrations of traveling in the rain. However, the soundproofing was a bit lacking. Between 10 PM and 11 PM, we could faintly hear conversations from the next room. Those sensitive to noise might want to bring earplugs. Also, the bathroom design could be improved: the showerhead only adjusts up and down, not side to side. The hand soap and lotion dispensers above the sink are too close together, making it easy to press the wrong one when you're still half-asleep in the morning. I suggest the hotel consider optimizing the spacing between them. The breakfast buffet offered a decent, but not particularly extensive, selection. When we arrived around 9 AM, some food trays were already empty, and it seemed the refills weren't keeping up with the guest flow, which was a minor disappointment. Despite these small flaws, the efficiency of the front desk staff was commendable. Both check-in and check-out were swift and seamless. When we left, the front desk proactively asked about our stay, and this attentiveness to guest experience made us feel very valued. Overall, my stay was pleasant. I sincerely hope the hotel addresses the issues with soundproofing, bathroom details, and breakfast replenishment. I believe that with these improvements, the experience would be even better!

This hotel is located in the heart of Taiyuan city, making it very convenient to walk to the Bell and Drum Towers, Food Street, and Liuxiang South Road Commercial Street. Check-in was super quick, and the front desk staff even proactively upgraded me to a lake-view king room. The bellhop was very polite, offering to carry my luggage and escort me to my room. Inside the room, I found a thoughtful note from the housekeeper, who also provided fruit and a late-night snack. The room layout was well-designed, and all towels and bath towels were sealed in paper bags, clearly marked 'sanitized.' I had a very quiet night's sleep; the soundproofing was excellent. The breakfast buffet was quite rich, and I personally found it very much to my taste. The hotel's dining options are also great; I enjoyed the串串 (Chuan Chuan) mini hotpot on the outdoor terrace, which was fantastic. This is a high-quality hotel that I'd definitely recommend and would love to revisit!

This is a newly opened hotel with excellent facilities. The rooms are clean and tidy, the service is great, and the breakfast is also quite good. The hotel is conveniently located near Bell Tower Street and Food Street, with many old, reputable restaurants nearby, making dining very easy. The Jinshang Museum is also just 1km from the hotel.
