We received a warm welcome from the gentleman receptionist and found the hotel easily from the airport using directions and tram info sent beforehand. I stayed in rm 523 with my adult daughter. It was a spacious, beautiful twin room and was very clean, luxurious and comfortable. I booked this specifically because there are bedside plug sockets which are a must if you are a CPAP user. The beds were SO comfortable. I can not find any fault with the room and would stay in it again. The breakfast buffet was exceptional. A wide variety of food and all fresh and delicious. The kitchen staff outdid them selves. Again would recommend for this aspect. However, The only set back was that there was a communication problem between reception and the kitchen staff and no vegan breakfast was prepared on our first morning for my daughter, despite having notified the hotel well in advance (twice) and received confirmation. This was a very important error because I checked before booking in the first place that vegan options would be available. It was a deciding factor for our stay. The kitchen staff were apologetic but the female receptionist was really quite rude when I brought this up and she made me feel very upset and cry, and it was sad because it was on the morning of my 50th birthday which was the reason for the special trip which was a once in a lifetime trip for me and I had spent a long time planning it and making sure everything would be great. It is kind of odd that with such an amazing selection of food that there was very little vegan options. It's not hard after all to provide soya milk so that at the very least someone could have a coffee and cereals. Especially when we found that Amsterdam culture and cafes are very accommodating of vegans usually. The next day the kitchen staff had made an effort to provide a selection to my daughter, and I understand it was not their fault about the miscommunication. However I cannot help but feel let down by the reception / hotel staff with this and it did mean my birthday morning was ruined by the rude receptionist. Hence I have removed one star.

This hotel was truly lovely. It was my second visit to Amsterdam and my 3 friends and I stayed here for 3 nights. The city centre was walkable (about 15-20 minutes) or you could get the tram which was just at the end of the street. Tram tickets can be super cheap if you buy a 24/48/72 hour travel card so hopping on and off became very easy and natural. There are cafes within 5 minutes walk and the hotel also had a cosy cafe on its ground floor. There is also a bike shop close by which was lovely to hire bikes and cycle around Vondelpark (10 minute cycle). The staff were incredibly friendly, the room was clean and we had a very comfortable stay. For 4 of us, the value for money was excellent. I love Amsterdam as a city and would happily return for a 3rd time and stay here. I couldn’t find any fault in this hotel. Thank you for a brilliant stay!

More of a 3 star than a 4 star as advertised. OK for a 3 star. Often priced at £80 - £100 pn but i got it at £50 which is good value. Best to use tram and buses and get back before they stop running as taxi costs €45 from Dam Square! Good view from front window of freeway coming into Amsterdam. Watch the cars coming in at 5am when you get back from Centraal. Good supermarket just round the corner. Google maps is helpful to navigate buses & trams into Leidsplein, Rembrandtplein & Dam Square. Booze is expensive in Centraal area. Up to €9 for a med to large beer!

Excellent experience, very good welcome, very friendly staff, the room was very nice and spacious, the bed was very comfortable and in the bathroom there was everything you could need, I recommend it 100%

Close to main train/bus/trolley station, about 15 min walk or less than 5 minute trolley ride. Staff was very nice and helpful. My credit card got declined several times on their automated check in and I was about to have a nervous breakdown. The lady at front desk helped me, first of all, to calm down and then used the card at her desk where it worked just fine. We checked in at 4 pm and fortunately for us our room wasn't ready and we got upgraded. Breakfast was delicious but if you don't eat much, like my daughter, its a bit too much/pricey. They allowed us to store our bags after our check out and held it until it was time for our bus at midnight, they also let us hang out in their lobby/computer area until it was time to go. Perfect location, clean, friendly staff.

We arrived early (about 11.30am) to leave our bags but we were kindly offered a room that was available straight away which was very kind. Our room was clean and spacious. Nice clean linen and comfy beds with a nice view of the Main Street. Air con/heating worked well. No street noise at night that I noticed although we were on the 4th floor. All staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. Lovely free coffee in reception area. Great budget hotel in an excellent location. Will definitely stay here again

Our bed were changed from King size to 2 single beds. The single beds is terrible, but bed frame like not fit, when u make a body turn, the bed will move also. And my partner feel the bed is not clean enough. The room is big but feel very empty. TV is not working the first few days, after we make ask then they change new remote, then everything is fine. Love the body shampoo smell. Location is close to Sloterdik station. very convenient to take train,tram,bus,metro. It is not as busy as Centraal, but not many options of food surrounding. Spar is the convenient shop we must pass by everynight we come back to hotel. U can get food and drinks there. We get salad & fruits before heading to hotel everynight.

I love everything about this hotel. It's affordable and has every basic amenitie you need when you travel overseas. The only down part is you have to pay to get an adaptor. So pls remember to bring your international travel adaptor if you don’t want to end up paying €15 . If you love walking and travel like local . This hotel has a good location . It’s about 30min walks to Van Gogh museum . I will definitely staying at this hotel again when I visit the Amsterdam

Had a great experience as a solo traveller. All I needed was a comfortable bed and a shower in the morning and this fit that purpose. Room is well designed, and had plenty of hanging / storage space. Matress is firm, which is how I have mine so I was happy with the comfort of my sleep. No problems with both heating and cooling, as well as no hot water problems. Only thing I would say is if you’re staying on an outside room, and the rain is pretty hard, it will cause some noise as it hits the metal structure. Didn’t bother me, but it could bother others who are more sensitive to noise. I’d stay again , and felt it offered great value for money

I chose this hôtel as I was travelling from the UK to see Dépêche Mode at the Ziggo Dome. And stayed two nights. Jaz in the City is just steps away from the Ziggo entrance so you can’t get any closer! It’s also great as a base for Amsterdam sightseeing. From the airport there’s a direct train (hotel is a 10-15 min walk from Bijlmer ArenA station). You can also hop on the metro here for a 20 min ride to Centraal. As Amsterdams public transport is so good (compared to Bristol in the UK where I live) you can confidently rely on it to get you wherever you need to be efficiently! Staff at the hotel are super friendly and helpful. From front desk, bar, restaurant and housekeeping. Everyone (thankfully) spoke English which is ideal for me as I can just about say hello and thank you in Dutch! Special shout out to Mr Omelette Maker at breakfast. The perfect start to a day of sightseeing!! I’m sure they’re are cheaper options but I’m of an age where I understand that you get what you pay for. This hotel in my opinion is great. It looks good, is super clean and well maintained and importantly ＜feels＞ good.
