2-Star Hotels in Athens

Stayed with my wife at Athenstyle for 4 days in a double ensuite room. Unbeateable location in a lively neighborhood full of cafes, bars, tavernas. Short walking distance to all attractions and night life. Staff was very helpful and welcoming. Our room was in the second building across the street and had a balcony. Very clean and comfortable. Rooftop bar with amazing view of Acropolis and the city. Last but not least Chris is a great host made our stay even more enjoyable with many tips and recommendations.

The room price is still very high, the disadvantage is that the surrounding environment is not very good, walking to the city is also very close, the mirror inside the room too much affects sleep, others can also be very nice at the front desk

We went to Athens for a visit as a family and we stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The staffs were very friendly and very helpful especially one staff gentleman (don't know his name) but he was very funny, made us laugh a lot and was very helpful. Very clean hotel and would highly recommend for stay. WIFI is very fast and it is right in the city centre. They let us leave our luggage at the hotel after we checked out so we can go around the city for our last stroll hands-free which was really nice of them. The only thing I would say is there could have eggs for breakfast as we as a family love eggs but nonetheless, 5 stars for the service and the hotel. Thank you very much for the staff.

The location is very good, it only takes three minutes to walk to Metro Line 3, and it only takes about ten minutes to walk to the Old Town Pedestrian Street. Open the windows on the third floor to see the Acropolis. The breakfast is rich, the rooms are clean, and the air conditioning works well.

Stayed in a 6 bed hostel room. Bunk was comfortable. Nice large lock boxes. Good lighting and electric outlets with each bunk. Good curtains for privacy and lighting. Staff was really helpful and welcoming. Nice cafe on street level. Bathrooms were clean and kitchen on 1st floor was nice and coffee and tea were available. Great location in a Athens. Right where you want to be for quick access to attractions, transportation, restaurants and nightlife. Yes staying in a shared room can get noisy when people come in after a night out, but that’s hostel life. In any case bed was comfortable and I slept well. Would stay there again.

I stayed with a group of friends at the Psiri hotel for a week in April 2023. We were all very impressed. While looking unimpressive from the outside (there is just a door fronting the street) inside it is bright and airy. The rooms are a good size and very clean. A fridge was in each room and we borrowed kettles which made our stay more comfortable. The staff were always helpful, friendly and in good spirits. The location was ideal, it is in a lively, interesting neighbourhood packed with places to eat and drink and an amazing array of shops. The majority of Athens attractions are within walking distance and three are 2 metro stations close by if you wish to travel further. Overall the Psiri is a great place to say - a budget hotel yes, but a very clean and comfortable. A great stay.

First of all, the location of the accommodation is excellent, since it is a breath away from Syntagma Square. Regarding the room it was very spacious, clean and fully equipped with everything we needed. While its price is very low for what it offers. The staff, although friendly, took a long time to check us in, as the room was being cleaned at that time, resulting in us waiting about forty minutes. I also think it needs a sign outside to make it easier to find. I highly recommend it.

Didn't get off to a good start as my wallet was stolen getting off the metro, so wasn't in the best of moods, but the people on reception gave me some advice and the morning after we missed breakfast as we wanted to go and report the theft, the person on reception pointed us in the right direction for the police station. The rooms are pretty much as you find in Greece, everything you needed, bath was far to small for me but shower did its job, free safe in room as well. So on the second morning we went for breakfast, this is the highlight of this hotel, as you walk into the breakfast area you are greeted by a really friendly lady who cannot do enough for you and she comes across as a very happy person, typical Greek fare and enough to set you up for the day, bonus number two the view is amazing and as you walk further round the Acropolis appears, it was a great way to start the day. There is also a roof top area where you can sit and drink and at night the Acropolis is lit up and looks magical. The first impression of the area isn't that good, but once you get used to it, its fine, it did seem very safe and literally round the corner there are little streets full of nice bars and shops, it was also very quiet at night which made for a good nights sleep, I would stay here again if I am ever in Athens.

Clean room, great location, AC worked, hot water. Alert staff. I’d definitely stay here again.

I booked a week at Hotel Lido but it was so bad I checked out a day early. The location is central but the area is dreadful - the balcony overlooked homeless injecting drugs openly in the street , trash bins and some kind of sweatshop in the building opposite, oh and the Indian restaurant plays Bhangra music til 2am. The room - dirty. When I saw the Cockroaches I took photos. The receptionist blamed me for eating in the room. I told her I didn’t eat in the room. She then blamed me for leaving the balcony door open. She said the rooms are ‘cleaned’ everyday , NO , all the chambermaid does is leave towels and makes the bed. The same long black hairs and bits on the floor , the blood where I killed the cockroach etc etc were there all my stay. However other reviews said about ‘insects’ so evidently cockroaches are a problem. She definitely needs some customer service training- shouting at the guests checking in - she is in the wrong job. Btw… On the website they have faked a roof terrace. THERE IS NO ROOF TERRACE! If this sounds like the hotel for you then great ! You’ll have a bargain stay in Athens ! I have stayed in hostels that are cleaner (without cockroaches) … I wish I had spent a few more €’s , listened to the other reviews and stayed elsewhere. Ecomony should never mean dirty. For my last night in Athens I booked into a lovely hotel without the ‘insects’ because I wanted to get this awful place out of my head and end my visit on a positive.
