Retreat at the Knowe Auchincruive Estate

Booked for one night to attend a near by wedding , Annie is the perfect host, friendly , informative, and had us a taxi booked and waiting within the 10mins of arriving due to us arriving later than expected, the room was perfect and had the best nights sleep on the waterbed , which was a wonderful surprise , came home to look at purchasing one for the house now lol, the highest standard of furnishings and finishing touches and dont even know to begin in relation to the fabulous, tastiest breakfast , nothing was too much trouble and the lovely open kitchen had the perfect ambience for one of the nicest breakfasts we have , I only wish we could have stayed longer , but we will definitely be back Annie , oh and good luck with the trike purchase 😉😉😜 Best wishes Gordon and Lorna Smith

This is a 5 star plus experience, it is truly amazing. What can I say Annie is the most amazing host, she goes out her way to help and assist with any of your needs, I did feel like I was part of the family. I will definitely recommend this accommodation simply fabulous. The accommodation has a water bed! Had my doubts but it was amazing had a great sleep. The whole accommodation oozes luxury, lots of quirky bits which I love as this makes it very interesting. The grounds are lovely, there are two hot tubs, unfortunately we did not get the opportunity of using due to the wet July weather, but look forward to using on a return visit. We stayed 2 nights met a lovely family from South Africa we were all there for the Open golf in Troon. Very friendly indeed. Annie recommended the Clock Tower restaurant for dinner, which is on the Estate and it did not disappoint, the restaurant was lovely, staff all friendly, food delicious and very reasonable, would recommend. Will definitely return as it was a true experience, thanks for everything Annie.

Total luxury awaits the moment you enter through the gates - the place is immaculate and each area is decorated individually to the highest standard throughout. The textiles throughout are top quality - the waterbed is amazing too. Breakfast choices are exceptional and very tasty - the host is super friendly and looks after your every need and makes sure you enjoy the best time - can’t rate it high enough Susan and Hugh Dyer

Staying with Annie was like visiting family - even though we’d never met her before and only stayed one night! She made us feel like “guests” rather than “clients”, and went out of her way to make sure we were looked after. She and George have a lovely place in a peaceful rural setting. The accommodation was very well equipped and clean, and we had our most comfortable sleep of our Scottish road trip so far! It’s just a shame we were only staying one night as we didn’t feel we got the most value out of it - if you stayed two or more you’d be able to make better use of the facilities and the surrounding countryside. There was a river nearby and some waymarked trails that we would have liked to explore. You’ll need to drive out somewhere if you want an evening meal, but Ayr is only a short drive away and Annie and George know the area so well they were able to signpost us to a perfect restaurant for us. Ok, the room is a little small as others have said, and we did notice a mole deterrent chirping outside which was a bit distracting with the window open, but Annie’s hospitality more than made up for those things. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if we’re ever back up this way. Thanks Annie for a wonderful - if brief - visit!

After reading wonderful reviews we decided to stay here rather than a faceless establishment. Our first impressions were characterised by the wonderful welcome from Annie. The room was astounding and I won’t go into too many details and spoil the thrill you’ll get here. Let’s just stay our sleep was restful and the provisions made for a wonderful stay. Hand cooked Breakfast with our host took me back and the food was beyond description. We’ll definitely look to stay here next time we’re up.

Excellent hosts felt like family, couldn't do enough for us, very welcoming,beautiful property, Excellent welcoming packs in rooms, beautiful grounds plenty outdoor seating, feels like your in the country, will definitely be back.

Had a lovely overnight stay on Saturday. Room was probably the nicest room we have ever stayed in! lovely little touches, breakfast was fabulous. Annie was the perfect host. We will definitely return.

Annie the hostess was so friendly, caring and really helpful with my travel plans because she knows this area so well. Her breakfasts are huge and delicious. She offers many choices and cooks them to order and perfection Definitely big enough to keep you going all day!! I was in a room with a waveless waterbed with luxurious linens that was the most comfortable nights sleep I’ve had in a really long time. Going to buy one when I go home!! The bathroom was top of the line in every way, even the towels! And Clean, Clean, Clean!!! Right next door is a beautiful river with so many flowers and trees that you never want the path to end To top all of this off is the most comfortable hot tub ever!! Sitting in it outside on a cold night under the stars is a dream come true. I might return to Scotland just so I could stay here again!! Thank you Annie for going so far and beyond to provide such a wonderful experience

I would advise everyone this place is a disgrace false advertisement we booked a room which I have included photo which states facilities hot tub and pay at property once booked u received a msg via text asking coukd I transfer payment to the bank which I was happy to do once payment arrived to the property I was told confirm payment tomorrow after being told I had to Co firm this within 24hrsr she would cancel booking I asked the property did I have to pre bookk the hot tub I was advised the got was 60 pound per two hours which in the facilities nor anywhere else on nay hotel booking site does it state additional cost I explained this to the very rude lady who did not listen she said strange booking. Com would fix this but its every site it states hot 5ub use with your accommodation I then tried to call and did a 1 ring and cut out I then received call back to say refunding me my kidney doesn't think this the place for me because I questioned like every other chargeable facility stated addiotnal cost I am now out of pocket from travel fairs etc and some where to find last minute and out extra Cosrs while awaiting refund this isn't just a fuskt on booking. Com every site review site etc states hot tub it's lies reviews are also lies and very staged ad say be careful also state infity pool lies
