I’m very happy with my experience at Douro Palace Hotel. The hotel features a very nice spa where you can unwind and relax after a day of exploration. It was absolutely amazing stay that we had in Douro valley thanks to the Douro Royal valley Hotel&Spa, especially because our trip took place when it was mostly raining… luckily, me and my husband were able to use that time properly in the hotel’s spa, having massage, enjoying the time in the swimming pool, spending some time in sauna and even at the gym. Thanks to hotel’s facilities the trip was not a waste of time, we could rest actively, we also enjoyed very much the overall ambience of the hotel and taking care of the personell so that overall the hotel is a calm place to stay at. What caught us by surprise was absolutely stunning dinner- each out of 6 courses we had was prepared and served with such a mastery that we thought we are at the resturant with micheline star chef- chapeau bas to the Chef - your courses are absolute masterpiece and the best of the best we tried on our 2-week trip in Portugal. Thank you for this experience :)

The hotel is excellent, very new. When arrived in the room there was a dish with fresh fruit, it is great to have healthy options, instead of typical pompons. The super comfortable beds, and have a cocktail letter. The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable. We will repeat safe ☺️

Hotel acolhedor, staff mt simpático, sempre prestável e atencioso. Quarto agradável e limpinho. Spa afável (é pequeno mas como funciona com marcações estava adequado ao número de pessoas presente), o único senão foi msm a temperatura (estava demasiado quente). P.s. não fornecem gratuitamente roupão, chinelos e toalhas, o que normalmente acontece num hotel de 4*. Jantar mt bom, com condições para famílias com filhos (como é o nosso caso), atendimento mt prestável, atenderam a todos os pedidos, prato principal (no caso bacalhau com broa) mt saboroso e bastante apelativo. Sobremesa igualmente boa (folhado de leite creme). Recomendo vivamente. Pequeno almoço com bastante variedade, desde doces a salgados, vários tipos de pão, vários tipos de sumos, compotas, iogurtes, cereais, bastante bom na verdade. Novamente saliento a simpatia do staff, desde a receção, bar, restaurante e demais. Na realidade só não dou 5* porque o quarto no qual ficamos hospedados não tinha varanda e valorizo bastante esse aspecto. Se assim não fosse daria 5* com toda a certeza. Para a próxima que cá vier terei esse aspecto em atenção aquando da reserva. É um até já.

Very good stay, recommendable, pity the current situation we are in, we cannot enjoy everything that we are allowed in a normal situation. From the Hotel nothing to point out, excellent staff, dinner, good diversified breakfast. Hygiene under the circumstances seemed good to me! A small alert to those who wish to purchase services with TRIP.COM They are excellent to sell, but then to assist the buyer only and simply they do not answer or respond more concretely, they do not exist! Quinta do Bosque is an exceptional hotel in every respect. This was our second visit and we were as impressed the second time as the first, perhaps even more so. Christiano (and Maria) are first class hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are beautiful, (we had a suite, but all the rooms are great), with first class attention to detail in every respect. The breakfasts offer good choice and also the snacks available through the day are well thought out and presented. There is also a set evening meal available if required and is excellent value for three courses of local good food. The wine, made by the local cooperative, with grapes from Christianos vines, compliments the meal well. Overall Is there better value anywhere - I doubt it. The pool, the loungers and the view make for a very relaxing day. If you want to go out to explore the Duoro, this is a great base. There are lots of wine/port tasting venues nearby. We took a train from Regua to Pocinho (1.5 hours each way), which gives great views of the Duoro and is only around 13 euros return or 6 if over 65. It sounds a long time, but really was a good trip. (nb there is nothing at Pocinho - get straight back on the train and if you wanted somewhere to stop and eat, try Tua or Pinhao, and get the next train back). D&Y
