Located within Ise-Shima National Park in Mie Prefecture, Japan, Kashikojima Hojoen is a beloved traditional Japanese hot spring resort. Nestled along the scenic shores of Ago Bay, the hotel offers all guest rooms with ocean views, allowing you to enjoy the serene beauty of the sea and sky right from your room. The hotel features open-air natural hot spring baths rich in minerals, which help relieve fatigue and promote wellness and beauty. For dinner, guests are served authentic Japanese kaiseki cuisine, with seasonal dishes featuring fresh local delicacies such as Ise lobster and abalone for an exquisite dining experience. Conveniently located, the hotel provides complimentary shuttle service from Kintetsu Kashikojima Station, just a 3-minute ride away—making it an ideal destination for families, couples, and elderly travelers. If you’re seeking a peaceful, elegant, and authentically Japanese healing retreat, Kashikojima Hojoen is your perfect choice.(If checking in after 18:00, it is necessary to contact the hotel in advance)

"The hotel's large public bath is incredibly spacious with superb views! For dinner, even though we didn't opt for the most expensive lobster set, we still had abalone, sashimi, and more. The portion sizes and quality were already excellent! There's a free shuttle bus to Kashikojima Station, but it's actually only a ten-minute walk (though there's an incline)."

"A perfect experience! The room was huge, and you absolutely *must* book an ocean view room! The entire resort is beautiful, and dinner was delicious too 😋 [New Year's Sale 2026] [Limited Time Offer] French Full Course ”Harmony” Dinner Plan (with Japanese Lobster + Fillet Mignon): Huge thanks to the restaurant for their warm service. Springing out of the beautiful Ago-Wan Bay peninsula is Shima Kanko Hotel the Bay Suites, a restful Japanese retreat where a sense of peace washes over you from the moment you enter. Grab-your-camera views are in almost every direction, especially at dusk when the hotel offers one of the best vantage points for the sunset. Take it all in from your spacious suite, a masterpiece in modern minimalism. Or watch over the water at dinner. Both Le Mer, the French-inspired restaurant and Hamayu that presents kaiseki-ryori - the Japanese tasting menu, pair memorable food with unforgettable views. They stream into Eau Spa as well- where treatments make use of the energising power of water. Shima Kanko is the proud host of the first Clarins spa in Japan, and guests can expect signature Clarins scents and plant-powered formulas. Rest and rejuvenate in the dry sauna and tepidarium, or step out into the fresh air and outdoor pool. For those with energy to burn, the hotel puts you close to Shima Nature Reserve where kayaks, boats and water balls skim the Bay. There are beaches nearby, as well as landmarks such as Daiozaki Lighthouse and nearby Yokoyama Observatory - for soaking up the setting from dry land. Shima Kanko Hotel the Bay Suites is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property.

"There is a shuttle bus at Kashikojima Station. Find the driver of the hotel bus. The suite will immediately notify the Toyota car to pick you up. It takes three to five minutes by car. After arriving at the hotel, you can enjoy the 5-star service. All rooms face the sea and the sun is shining. The facilities are high-end and complete with 100 square meters. The small refrigerator is all free, and there are Mikimoto skin care products. The lounge has a terrace with an excellent view, and the food and drinks prepared are also exquisite. The service here is perfect. I checked in on my birthday. When checking in, I was asked to choose whether the check-in was on my birthday anniversary. I didn't want to bother others to choose sightseeing. As a result, the staff of the French restaurant on the 5th floor sent greeting cards and beautiful desserts. The chef came to bless me kindly, gentle and decent. Please experience the hotel's cruise ship. 3,600 yen per person is very worthwhile. It takes 45 minutes to visit Ago Bay. The memorial hall of the G7 meeting is a few minutes away from the building next door, and the car can be sent there at any time. In addition to good facilities, this hotel can host high-level meetings. More importantly, there is a perfect service team here. Everything is great. Staying for one night is unsatisfactory. 11 is the commemoration of Yamazaki Toyoko's stay in ”White Tower” that I like. I recommend the French restaurant on the 5th floor, which has a better view and the dishes taste great. I had breakfast at the Japanese restaurant on the 4th floor, but the view was a little worse and the taste was a little salty."

"Family 4 There aren't many inns where people can stay in one room, but she prepared my mother's cot, and the room was made into a large room with 2 room. Thank you very much. The facility itself is certainly old. However, since it is a hotel with sufficient ingenuity and service to spend the room comfortably, I think it is a comfortable accommodation. There is no big problem with taking parents who are old and have difficulty walking. Mr. Nakai? However, it was a hotel with a warm impression that served me hard."

A resort hotel with ocean views and natural hot springs and Ago Bay

"The check-in was at night, so the road just in front of the hotel was a little scary, but it was a road that was not scary at all when I went to the bright time the next morning. It was easy to go because the public bath was right after getting off the elevator. This time I stayed without meals, but next time I wanted to stay with meals."

"Transportation: Take the Shimakaze train to Kashikojima, which takes about two and a half hours. Contact the hotel in advance for a pick-up from Kashikojima station. The hotel does not provide airport pick-up, but can arrange car hire for guests. Transportation is very inconvenient. Facilities: The facilities are very good. The interior styles of the three Aman hotels in Japan are very similar, and the rooms and public areas are well-maintained. Service: The service is very good. Food: Due to the hotel's remote location, there are no restaurants nearby, so all meals were eaten at the hotel. The food at the restaurant was surprisingly good (I thought it wouldn't be good). Dinner reservations must be made in advance, as the hotel is fully booked on holidays, and the restaurant's dinner slots are also fully booked. You either have to wait until 8:30 pm or eat at the bar. If you choose to eat dinner at the bar, you won't be able to get shabu-shabu. The lunch menu is different; it's a simple meal, but acceptable. The first set meal was a regular set meal, which included a beef dish with a green sauce that was super delicious; I used it to mix with rice. The second set meal included shabu-shabu, with options for Ise lobster, Matsusaka beef, and local beef; I chose the local beef. The reddish-brown sauce in the shabu-shabu was absolutely delicious. Activities: Chinese-speaking guides can be requested for tours of Ise. The hotel didn't email us in advance to inform us about activities or inquire about arrangements. Many activities were unavailable upon check-in. Summary: Aside from the inconvenient transportation and the lack of advance email communication about activities during my stay, everything was fine."
