There is no place to relax in this hotel except the rooms. Because the dining hall on the first floor seems to be outsourced. Because we wanted to go in and sit down, the waiter happened to be chasing away the hotel staff sitting in the lobby.

The restaurant is reputed to be a Michelin 3 star establishment, and we are fortunate to have dined in a number of similarly rated restaurants and this by far was the WORST. Food was OK/fine but service and ambiance were totally lacking. Traveling in Europe for 10 days and this meal was absolutely our most disappointing of the entire trip. Happy to pay for a true 3 star experience but this was not remotely close to that.

Absoluut fantastisch hotel met prachtige kamers. Personeel heeft oog voor elk detail en de heerlijke spa is inbegrepen. Tot slot heerlijk gegeten in het bij behoorende 3 sterren michelin restaurant Abac. Een van de allermooiste hotels waar ik heb geslapen!!

A very small, intimate and well kept property located several km from the city center but just a few meters from a subway station that will bring you there in minutes. Our room was large, unusually comfortable and equipped with electronically operated black out drapes. The staff was attentive but not obtrusive. We chose not to eat in its famed restaurant and we were directed by helpful staff to several options nearby. We found this property a slight bit overpriced but not outrageously so; the quiet and care made it a reasonable value.

This should not be a 5 star hotel! Great restaurant & nice looking property, but 80% of the attention is given to the restaurant and not the hotel. EXAMPLES: 1- They offer room service (as expected at any 5 star hotel) but frequently tell you the kitchen staff is too busy with the restaurant to be able to provide room service. So there really is no reliable room service. 2- One arrives at the hotel and there is no one to help you with your luggage! 3- Front desk staff and reception staff members are clueless regarding what great service means.

We spent four nights at the ABAC during the December long weekend and I have to say that it was a very pleasant experience. The hotel is an oasis of peace in the upper area of Barcelona; The rooms are spacious, bright and perfectly equipped; breakfast - of the highest quality - is served in the wonderful library, etc. But the best of all is the great professionalism and kindness of all the staff, attentive to every detail, with that Barcelona courtesy, which pleases but does not invade. Anyway, we will return as soon as we can.
