Always love staying here. The staff is friendly, rooms are very clean and always enjoy the location. We appreciate how accessible it is to the marina. We enjoy fishing on the Ms Marin. Get to the marina in 5 minutes. This place is the best

The rooms are freshly renovated with functional useful features. Pod press coffee maker, sound/alarm system with built in chargers, comfortable beds and a very large flat screen tv. Modern decor and energy saving features throughout.

Stayed at Golden Bear Hotel because it was near relatives home in Berkeley. We had basic single king-size bed. Really enjoyed the accommodations, morning coffee and basic breakfast. Would absolutely stay at Golden Bear again and appreciate the staff's assistance during all three nights. Don't miss this little jewel.

Refurbished, adequately sized, well equipped and clean rooms. We especially liked the walk-in shower. Parking was good, easy access from Interstate. Breakfast rather poor (bars, plastic wrapped pastry) but there are cafes and other options nearby. Ice-machine under staff control, no self-service. Wifi good.

Check-In and Out was easy:) Plenty of parking and area came off safe:) Heard no noise from other rooms and little from outside:) Bed was comfortable:) Plenty of hot shower water and great pressure:) Nice TV and very good channel selection:) Shower floor can be slick and shower itself tight for bigger people😳 Door was hard to lock:( Found past guest glasses on floor under air conditioning wall unit😳 Hated how the bathrooms light is automated to come on when you enter the area, makes it hard on the eyes in the middle of the night. When I was showering, the light would go off do to no movement in bathroom, showering in the dark is not fun:( Still, really liked this BW

Rooms were exceptionally clean and modern. Great location for accessing the BART train to SF or the airport. Couple of good food places within easy walking distance. The rooms aren't massive and the water pressure in the shower isn't great, but I imagine that's pretty typical for SF. Overall highly recommend this place! Will definitely be staying here again next time I visit. (I didn't grab a pic of the hotel, but here's the bridge 🤷)

I have family living in Berkeley. This hotel is not far from them. It has been open about seven months with incredible renovations by Best Western. For one thing in a city that’s known as parking hell, there is a nice parking lot in the courtyard of the motel which is very spacious. It’s a well lit corner and has a view from the office. The staff at the office are great. Extremely helpful with my questions. The room includes a very comfortable bed, alarm clock and phone which are connected with a number of lightning charger wires for devices. There is a one unit dresser type unit including a mini fridge, a microwave, safe, and a Keurig coffee machine. There is a good size closet area and shower with bathroom area. There is a desk with a great desk lamp. The lighting is powered when you put your key in the slot near the door. There’s plenty of light and it feels very clean. One of my favorite features is that there’s no carpeting which means you don’t feel like you’re stepping on someone’s dirt. The cleanliness is only second to the quiet because although you’re not too far from San Pablo Ave. there is very little noise at night. You can turn on the fan or air conditioning or heating and have some white noise as well. The window louvers really didn’t block out a lot of lights because one day I got up at seven and could not tell that the sun was shining brightly outside. The golden bear is very convenient to the freeways because all you do is take a turn onto San Pablo Ave. and a right turn on University Avenue and you will come to the 580 down near the water. This will lead you to all the freeways going either north or south or west to San Francisco. I cannot recommend this facility enough.

Hotel was clean and convenient to catch a bus to UC Berkeley! Closest Bart station- north Berkeley station - 15 minutes walk! There is a Whole Foods in walking distance! Bakery in the opposite side - really good! Front desk person on the first day of our stay was helpful! Breakfast- just couple of items there! Not very good! You can get a variety of pastries in the nearby bakery but lines can be long!

I loved staying at this place with upgraded rooms. The bed was comfortable and the decor was classy. The room was very clean and spacious. Lots of lighting and storage space. Love the fridge and sliding glass door shower. The Staff was very nice and very accommodating the last minute. Easy check in too. This is a hidden gem and close to all the shopping and restaurants. I highly recommend it! Will definitely be back! ❤️
