Suitable for friends to live together, health is OK, facilities are complete but not very advanced, the hotel location is not very central, the room window is very strange, looking at the yard dark and invisible dawn

After cycling for 3 months across France FirstName was an absolute pleasure to spend our last days recovering and as a base to see the city. Our room was spectacular, the bed was an absolute delight to sleep in and the bathroom and wardrobe storage were magnificent. The heated mirrors in the bathroom were a real touch of class that we welcomed. Breakfast and dinners were top-notch, we just loved everything the hotel had to offer. Check-in staff worked well above any expectations we may have had. They helped us when we had bicycle transport issues and when I cut my finger they worked tirelessly with arranging for the correct hospital and transport. They all communicated with each other and the various shifts seamlessly. The staff in the restaurant area along with the chef were also outstanding and super helpful.

This hostel was probably the best for its price I’ve ever been in. Very helping and friendly stuff, I found exceptional good sleep due to your good privacy in bed with curtains. If you want to visit the beautiful Bordeaux and don’t wanna spend a ton of money for sleeping this hostel is perfect for you!

Nur eine kurze Nacht in Bordeaux sollte es werden. Am Abend, nach einer langen Autofahrt spät ankommen und dann am nächsten Vormittag ebenso schnell frühstücken, anschließend ins Stadion und es geht schon weiter. Idealerweise hat man noch einen Parkplatz dabei und spart sich somit nach langer Fahrt noch eine nervenaufreibende Parkplatzsuche in der Innenstadt. Irgendwie erinnerte ich mich, dass ich vor etwa 30 Jahren bei einer Frankreich-Reise mal in einigen Formel 1 Hotels Station gemacht hatte. Damals noch extrem günstig. Und irgendwie führte diese etwas verklärte und sehr verblasste Erinnerung dazu, dass ich das Formel 1 Hotel buchte. Vorsichtshalber allerdings ein Cabrio-Zimmer, also mit eigenem Badezimmer. Diesen Aufpreis war es mir auf jeden Fall wert. Nach 14 Stunden Fahrt dort abends gegen 22 Uhr angekommen, war erst mal alles wie erwartet. Es sollte doch hoffentlich allen Gästen klar sein, dass es sich hier um eine Hotelkette handelt, die vorzugsweise in Industriegebieten ansässig ist. Wer hier ein umfangreiches Angebot an Restaurants und weiteren Ausgehmöglichkeiten in Laufnähe erwartet, hat im Vorfeld nicht aufgepasst. Also, schnell das Auto abgestellt und rein ins Hotel. Tatsächlich war um die späte Uhrzeit noch ein Mitarbeiter vor Ort, der den Check-In erledigte. Bis hierhin alles ok. Das Zimmer ansich war dann eher untere Kategorie. Wir waren im EG, wenn man das Fenster öffnete schaute man auf tausende von Zigarettenstummeln und Abfall. Also besser Fenster zulassen, wenigstens funktionierte bei hochsommerlichen Temperaturen die Klimaanlage. Das Bad war ein relativ großer, aber vollkommen steriler und weiß gekachelter Raum, hatte etwas von einem Krankenhaus. Mit den Fotos, die wir vorher auf der Internetseite gesehen hatten, hatte es leider nichts zu tun. Naja, eine Stunde später machten wir die Augen zu und am nächsten Morgen reisten wir wie geplant nach dem Frühstück wieder ab. Das Frühstück war genau, wie ich es mir vorgestellt hatte. Nicht besser und nicht schlechter. Fazit: wir haben zu zweit (ein Erwachsener, ein Kind) insgesamt 72 € für diese eine ÜN und 2 x Frühstück bezahlt. Das ist für das erhaltene Paket am Ende einfach zu viel Geld. Hätte ich irgendwas zwischen 40 und 50 € bezahlt, dann wäre das für die Leistungen ok gewesen. Aber für 72 € übernachte ich auch in inhabergeführten Pensionen, habe ein ordentliches Handtuch im Bad und bekomme morgens ein frisches Frühstücksei. Von daher leider keine Empfehlung.

The hotel is beautifuly maintained, the staff is great. Continental reakfast at 10 euros is ok but fruits could be improved a bit. I was grateful that they were willing to go find me gluten free bread. Perhaps you could add a few more items to the continental breakfast. Guests should be aware of the location of this hotel. It is a long walk to downtown and while there is a tram within 15 minute walking distance, we did not feel very safe in this area. Not recommend you walk around after dark.

Arrivés à 2h du matin sans réservation, nous avons été très bien accueilli par le réceptionniste qui était très agréable. Il a proposé le lit bébé gratuitement. Le temps d’aller garer la voiture (sur le parking gratuit et sécurisé au top) le lit bébé était déjà dans la chambre. La réceptionniste du lendemain au petit déjeuner était également très agréable. L’extérieur de l’hôtel est jolie. La chambre était propre et en très bon état. Aucun point négatif. Nous recommandons sans hésiter.

The hotel is clean and nothing to say at the level of the room, I spent a beautiful night

I stayed together with my partner at your hotel in Merignac last week the nights of the 29th and 30th of October. The night of the 30th we came back to the hotel around 22:30 p.m. and the reception was closed, so we used our card to open the main entrance of the hotel. Unfortunately, the card was not working as the door did not open. We tried several times to call the number which appeared in the front door, but no one replied. Suddenly some customers who were inside the hotel appeared and they opened us the front door. They told us that they have faced same issue; they could not open the front door. Additionally, they could not open their bedroom door, as the card was not working. We tried as well to open our bedroom door, but same issue happened, the card did not work. We were around two hours trying to reach someone from the hotel to solve this unpleasant situation, but we had no response at all. We were checking numbers of different Nemea hotels. We talked to both Lyon and Toulouse hotels, but they told us that they could not help us. They were stating that they were independent hotels and that they had no relationship between each other. We really felt abandoned and the whole situation was very unpleasant. We did as well call the police as we were desperate to solve this issue. As we had no response whatsoever from the hotel, we decided at around 0:15 a.m. to leave Nemea and search another hotel to spend the night. We needed to get a sleep. Same did the family that were with us in the reception. Moreover, they had two young daughters. Next morning, we went into the Nemea reception to explain the whole situation. The response we got from the man in the reception was to write an email to the following email account: merignac-stadium@nemea.fr. We did not accept so as we wanted a compensation on that same day. After that they agreed to pay us for the new hotel room we booked. This was not acceptable, and we required to compensate for the lost time, the several calls we did, the medication I was not able to take, and all the inconveniences caused. Finally, we got paid the hotel night at Ibis plus the Smartbox value. Finally, we would like to take the chance for you to recheck the internal policies on how you control the security as well as the emergency numbers in case any technological damage arises. A customer cannot be left abandoned as it has been done in this case.
