Amazing
GGuest UserThe room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the view was great. The free cocktail and coffee services in the lobby were nice, as well as the free drink bar (including one beer per person) near the entrance to the hot spring. The paid massage service was also good. The meals were decent, especially the grilled beef, which simply melted in my mouth. The restaurant staff welcomed us warmly and provided friendly service. Cons: The variety of hot springs was lacking, and the view from the hot springs was almost blocked, which was disappointing. The lockers for valuables used combination dials, and foreign guests often didn’t know how to use them, locking their room keys inside and struggling to reopen them. This was a major inconvenience. They should switch to a key-and-wristband system like other onsen hotels. The room itself felt like an old, once-grand mansion that had seen better days. The furniture had many scratches, and the surfaces were worn and peeling. It made me think it must have been impressive in the past. Still, the room was definitely more spacious compared to other hotels.

RRobS.First off, do not trust Google Maps for directions. The directions take you up the alley behind the hotel. The hotel opens on the main street (Hwy. 119 is what Maps indicates). This is an absolutely great little hotel, well located, clean and everything about the hotel I noticed, well looked after. It has a small, functional onsen that I used. I was in their hostel section, a single bed, capsule style. A little tough for a creaky, bad knees, old person like me but a great stay. They have a small, affordable breakfast buffet (Oriental-style) for purchase that is decent with a variety of different dishes. And they have a machine that dispenses excellent, fresh coffees and other beverages. It is a 2-star hotel and I will give it a 5 star rating as a 2 star hotel. Very good little hotel.

GGuest UserThis was my first time staying at Asaya Hotel, and I booked a valley-side room in the Shuho-kan wing. While the hotel itself felt a bit dated and the room had a slight musty smell, it was impeccably clean, which made for a comfortable stay. There was just one major drawback. The 'valley-side' of the Shuho-kan wing, unbeknownst to me, faces the direction where several well-known abandoned hotels in Kinugawa Onsen are located. When I looked out from the balcony, I was met with the sight of a truly eerie abandoned hotel. To be frank, the view was far from pleasant and quite unsettling. It was genuinely frightening. Even from the onsen windows, those abandoned hotels were clearly visible, making the nights feel particularly eerie and scary. Aside from that, everything else was great; the buffet was thoroughly satisfying, and the service was excellent.

GGuest UserA family trip, parents and children. Kinugawa is a declining hot spring town. It became popular after Tobu opened the train. I chose this place at night when I was traveling to Nikko. The hotel is a little far from Tobu Kinugawa Station, and it takes more than 20 minutes to walk. It is recommended to take the bus next to the station if you are traveling with children, the elderly or large suitcases. The hotel dinner is buffet style, and drinks are charged separately. The men's and women's baths are switched in the morning and evening. The open-air baths also do not offer views of the outside. The room size is OK, enough for children. A standard hot spring hotel.

AavlatkaIt is far from Tobu Niko station and relatively close to the main attractions. Of the pluses, two private onsens can be accommodated in two or three. One is laid out with a tile, the other is stone (used by a great demand, understandable case). If you take the onsen, no one will enter it anymore. To let the guests know whether the onsen is free and which special signal lamps are made, it is convenient. The Onsens work from 16 to 23 hours, so it is impossible to get down in the morning. Like I think, the water is cold and the rooms are closed - I love outdoors. The breakfast was unexpected, but they are fed exclusively with different baking (for a long time, so many tests have not eaten). It is also possible to buy frozen dishes for cheap and immediately distribute them in a microwave. In the bathroom and toilet room, the yucata is issued on demand. A beautiful living room where you can sit in the evening (if not too many guests). Here, where to sit in the street evening, it is not very clear, because near the Onsens there is a smoke zone with shops, but there is not a very nice smell.

RRosie33The bunk bed was so large compare to average bed size with comfy and clean blanket and sheet. There is personal locker with key, lamp, charge station, body and face towel, slipper, and free flow kimono and amenities. The soap, shampoo, body lotion, and face wash are provided. I think it is super fantastic compared to the cheap price. We can use public onsen (male and females are in different rooms so it is so convenient). From 15.00-22.00, in the Lake-View Lounge, we can drink and eat snacks for free: all kinds of alcohol, various soft drinks machines, coffee machines, beer, ice, tea, etc. So fantastic!!!!! There are library and game corners as well. This hotel is just across the Chuzenji Lake, 900m from Kegon lake. There is one and only convenient store (10mins by walk from hotel) which is open 08.00-20.00. Even though there are view restaurants nearby, however, you must be aware that food here is quite difficult to access. Restaurants mostly close as early as 3 or 4 pm. I will definitely come here again.

AAnonymous UserThis was my first time staying at a Hoshino Hotel in the Kai series, and I was very satisfied. The ”Kai” hotel in Nikko, especially the cable car, is definitely worth the experience. The hotel is very close to the station, seemingly nestled in the mountains, but it's actually just a short walk from the hot spring town. It's bustling yet secluded. The decor is a distinctly Japanese style, combining minimalism with a wabi-sabi vibe. I personally love it. Those who enjoy this series will appreciate it, but those who prefer extravagant and elaborate décor wouldn't recommend it; they'll be disappointed. The hotel also offers free coffee and tea, as well as unlimited juice and ice cream, so children will have more fun than adults. The hot springs are incredibly beautiful. During cherry blossom season, the hot springs are right outside, and during autumn foliage season, the mountain courtyard is filled with vibrant colors. Overall, the hotel isn't large, resembling a small resort, but it's packed with details, views, and activities. There are free evening performances, the kaiseki dinner is exquisite, and the Japanese breakfast is also very delicious. A hotel worth experiencing: upscale yet not intimidating, the service is very pleasant. In addition, there are a lot of fun theme parks and attractions nearby in just five minutes’ drive. This is also the reason for the recommendation.

GGuest UserThe location is really good. 10 mins away from the station. Easy to find. Big hotel, about 11 floors. The room is quite spacious, part in western style with beds and part in japaneese with tatamis. There is sink in themiddle of the room, quite comfy. Good view to the mountain and forest from the window, 9th floor. Nice yukata to wear, i liked the outerpart. Breakfast and dinner is buffet, quite big choice, free beer for dinner, not so many fruits, no cakes for breakfast (dinner only). There is sushi and sashimi choice, delicious food. Onsen is quite good, clean, big. Will recommend to stay here

GGuest UserI don’t understand why someone would leave a negative review due to their own negligence. Trip.com clearly mentioned the additional 300-yen tax (I assume this is the onsen tax) per person, yet they still claimed they were “scammed.” My overall experience at Hotel Euro City was wonderful. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and the shuttle bus service was amazing. If you want to get to the hotel easily, check the shuttle schedule on the hotel’s homepage so you don’t have to walk from the station. They run it every day at 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 15:15, 16:15, 17:15, and 18:15 from “Nikko Station Hotel Classic,” right next to JR Nikko Station. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the onsen in the backyard was great. It’s true that the room had a mild smell, but I assume it was due to recent pest control (it smelled like pesticide). Just open the windows for a while and it goes away. Breakfast was okay—not as fancy as in the advertisements, maybe because it wasn’t peak season. Overall, I think this is a very good choice, especially if you’re traveling with family.

玩转星球-KevinThe most important buffet dinner during the stay was served very late, and the dishes were often empty, which is very rare in Japan. Because it was less than 700 yuan and included two meals, although the hotel had many flaws, it was understandable, but the faucet in the room seemed to be broken, and the water flow was not smooth, which should be replaced. Overall, this room was acceptable.
